love the fact that professor layton and ace attorney canonically share the same universe. hershel looks at the newspaper and sees that a revolution happened in a small asian country based on the legal system and immediately goes “wonder why phoenix didn’t tell me about this.” news reaches japanifornia of a mystery being solved by a random professor in england and phoenix is like “good to know he’s still doing well.” hershel and his seventeen kids were invited to phoenix and miles’ wedding. phoenix is godfather to at least one of hershel’s kids. miles passed on messages to hershel whenever he was in england and phoenix wasn’t there. trucy calls layton “uncle hershel.” love the friendship. love the potential.

I think the Professor Layton series means more to me than any other franchise I’ve ever experienced. Sure, it’s mostly nostalgia, but it makes me so fucking happy to see people still making art/aus of it to this day, you keep going PL fandom, please never die
