âMm? Oh no⌠No. Quite the oppositeâ Iâve always been told that Iâm the least theyâd expect of that bunch is what I mean.â A casual wave of the hand, brushing away the misunderstanding. âSo⌠thatâd make you the minority, isnât that right?â
{ â Ah, that was a shame then, wasnât it. âIt would appear so.â
quirofiliac replied to your post: quirofiliac replied to your post we can...
your silence doesnât leave much to the imagination.
{ â âSorry, Iâm afraid Iâve got no idea where the nearest hardware store is. I would have simply loved to help, but alas.â
quirofiliacâ:
âOh⌠No, no. Iâd never want to disrupt someone elseâs lifeâ thatâd be terribly rude. Itâs got me thinking, though⌠Itâs unfortunate that youâre the only one thinking that, is all.â
{ â â...---Truly? That surprises me. Do you mean to say people tend to... think you of the disagreeable sort?â

no one asked you to live here.
â⌠And itâs offensive for me to do things of my own volition?â
{ â âThe reason Iâm asking nicely is because Iâm certain it wasnât your intent to inconvenience anybody. You didnât strike me as the disruptive type.â

@carcasethiefâ ďź impromptu hand judging ďź always accepting.
Itâs peculiarâ Kiraâs never taken the time to completely observe Masashiâs hands. There was a first for everything, though, he supposedâŚ
âI can tell that he used to bite his nails. Used toâ but itâs still such a⌠disgusting habit.â
By no means does he fail to see the hypocrisy in that statement (heâs struggling not to take a nibble at his own nails as heâs speaking, truth be told.) but still remains standing by it. For all of his talk and all of his sentiment towards a habit that he himself displayed⌠it still irked him. The fact that he himself did it just made it worse and weigh heavier in his mind.
âHis nails are usually short, which is good. Men donât have need for such long nails in the first place⌠though it might suit him, anyway. Heâs got the right, mm, features to get away with Iâm sure.â It doesnât change the fact that Kiraâs been eyeing them all the same; he wouldnât mind having them participate in his collection. Who knows? Maybe heâd theyâd like it there. âBut his hands have a nice overall, ah⌠shape, I suppose. Slender fingersâ I can tell heâs been paying more attention to himself. Thatâs good.â
âDoes he deserve a reward for doing the bare minimum, I wonderâŚ?â
He just canât seem to shake the idea of complimenting a nail-biter (or realizing that he shared something with someone he, with good reason, did not like.), even if it was in the past. After some moments of silence, though, Kira gave a weak shrug.
âNo, not exactly. I do empathize with him, howeverâ nail-biting is addicting.â
(and relieving.)
â⌠As long as he doesnât bite, he should be fine.â

{ â âA fair share. We may not hold as many books as some of the bigger stores, but we have plenty to offer.â
After high school, Masashi had begun to train himself out of his nervous habits. For the most part, he had been successful. No more fidgeting, no more sweaty palms, no more nail-biting. At this moment, as he watched the customer, his hands lay folded on the counter, perfectly still yet relaxed. His smile was practised but not forced, his entire demeanour professionally pleasant. The perfect employee.    This man, on the other hand, seemed very much like the perfect customer. Masashi tended to enjoy this type: plain, with simple desires that could be easily satisfied, good at small-talk. On top of that, this one clearly took very good care of himself; everything about him was impeccable, from his dress shoes to his perfectly manicured nails, something Masashi knew to appreciate. It made even the skeletal-like face look almost appealing.
Unfortunately, it just so happened that Masashi had an excellent sense of smell.
âAh, is that so?â he replied, carefully tiptoeing the line between superficial interest and blatant indifference, not inquiring any further. The lingering scent, presumably too faint for humans to notice, made his stomach hurt. It was impossible to guess what exactly this man might be hiding, but Masashi had the strong impression he really didnât want to know.

Rovdyr&&JEGER â WOLF REMAINS SILENT FOR A WHILE as if letting their mocking behaviour sink in, only for a smile to appear (although hidden behind the mask). âI guess I am!â Perhaps it was also the fact that allies were very important in a ward like this one, and therefore making good connections with ghouls they came across was of vital importance. Even if it meant not being entirely truthful about the situation.
Raven shifts slightly in the back. Having only a single arm means that if the ghoul turns out to be dangerous, he has only half the defence Wolf might haveâ especially considering that both their kagune match this system as well, so Raven keeps his distance, not mingling in the conversation, just warily watching.Â
Wolf laughs a light, charming sort of laugh and holds his hand out to them, not to take their food but to shake their hand instead. âWe will share with you also if we manage to get our hands on food as well~â He offers, trying to make the idea of allyship with them more appealing than it mightâve been earlier. âUs ghouls have to work together when we can to survive, donât we?â He adds, attempting to show solidarity as he does.Â
{ â His gaze briefly flits to Raven, who seems more wary than his overly friendly companion. The caution is somehow reassuring --- it makes him much a lot easier to read than Wolf. Desperate? Perhaps. But not for this rotting corpse.
Laughing Dog cocks his head at the outstretched hand. The irritation bubbling up at the gesture is out of habit, but nevertheless quickly squashed when he realises what he should have realised immediately: these ghouls are foreigners. It doesnât make him trust them any more, but at the very least it will make him consider being slightly more forgiving. Even so, he does not shake the hand. He doesnât need anyone. This offer, while appealing on the surface, is unlikely to benefit him in the long run. If they get caught, they might very well end up dragging him down with them, intentionally or not.Â
Us ghouls have to work together to survive. (How idyllic.) The phrase makes him think of the ghouls he has killed, either for their flesh or because they were in his way or a combination of the two, and it wrenches another laugh from him. He moves to stand, drawing himself up to his full height, letting the corpse slip down to the concrete of the roof as he does so, and steps back.
âGo ahead then,â he says, his voice sounding like something between a laugh and a growl, âeat it.â

Rovdyr&&JEGER â AS THEY VISIT THEIR REGULAR HAUNTS, the wolf pauses when he scents a source of food, a corpse, so to say. As was usual for them, the taller, more build one heads in front, while the other lingers behind, studying, watching. Emil approaches the stranger, moving to crouch beside them, seemingly entirely unguarded aside form the mask that still covered his features. âHi there~â He says in a sing-song tone. âDo you mind if we share?â
William lingers a few steps behinds, position showing how guarded he felt, arms folded in front of him, and remains silent, not trying to approach.Â
{ â Laughing Dog usually kept to himself for a variety of reasons, including cannibalism. He regards the unexpected company with wary silence, ready yet reluctant to act. The decaying corpse will sustain him for at least two weeks --- heâd rather not waste energy on fighting ghouls when heâs already got a meal.
The easiness with which Wolf approaches him is almost unsettling, (no, not almost. itâs just unsettling.) and for a moment Laughing Dog considers killing him on the spot just to be safe, already thinking about how he might be able to take out the two in one blow to save himself some trouble, but then he laughs. Itâs an ugly, raspy laugh, fitting the ugly, raspy voice that comes shortly after.
âAre you that desperate?â
Laughing Dog decides to ignore Raven in favour of Wolf, studying his body at the lack of a face, and peels back some of the sheet he used to wrap his dinner in; the foul smell intensifies at once, filling the air. (Itâs only a couple of days old, by far not the worst Laughing Dog has ever forced himself to eat, but why any ghoul might prefer this over something fresh is beyond him... unless they follow a similar reasoning to his own.)

âIâll take that as a compliment. Ahaha, you sure ainât changed a bit. Good to see youâre still alive nâ kickinâ. Was thinkinâ the CCG got rid of you and turned your quinque into a weapon. What a shame, what a shame that wouldâve been.â
{ â âOf course you would, you disgusting little infant. You havenât changed much, yourself. Still with that youthful energy... well, a proper grown-up just canât afford that sort of carelessness. How nice to know that youâve been thinking of me, though.â

{ â It was the wind, he suspects. While a high-up hiding place is good for avoiding prying eyes, it doesnât do much against a keen nose. (Well, even then, only a terribly desperate or terribly curious ghoul would be attracted by this.) He shakes the hair out of his masked face and adjusts his grip on the body as he turns to look, the sweet and nauseating smell of rot drowning out the scents of his surroundings. How inconvenient.
golosiâ:
âBEEN A LONG TIME, Gramps. Didâja miss me?â
{ â âIf I did, you just made me forget why. Of course, who wouldnât miss a sweet boy like yourself---?â
