it’s genuinely in the interests of advancing plot (e.g. ‘Pass the screwdriver?’ and you can assume my muse passes the screwdriver over, or even just that your muse ended up with the screwdriver one way or another, without having to stop the reply altogether for my interjection)

it’s NOT my muse’s dialogue, inner or outer

it’s REASONABLE for my muse (e.g. if they’ve already made it quite clear the screwdriver is a sentimentally precious family heirloom or something, then the screwdriver might not reasonably change hands)

               CINDERS—  PERHAPS IT WAS THE FACT that he wasn’t dealing with a flighty priest, or perhaps it was the fact that Uthric knew exactly what Myles had done to escape his prison, but either way he cannot help but allow a smirk to curve up his lips as dark teeth reveal themselves to put previously held self-control in vain. It was rare that a beast would try to bargain with him. Most outright attacked him, so to be spoken to so civily was a pleasant surprise. Perhaps not to the part of him that craved the bloodshed, but pleasant nonetheless.

 “Looking for someone badly enough to kill a whole town who were almost defenseless against you?” He offers, but despite the biting words, he carefully slides the blade back into its wooden hilt, guiding it with a thumb pressed to the blade. “But perhaps I can put that aside if you can tell me what you are looking for?” He offers the conversation, knowing the other to be searching, even if he did not know for who or what. There was very little chance he could even offer any information, but that hardly mattered when dealing with a person who had become little more than a monster. 

“Surely you would not have lingered if not for a good reason?” Especially with me on your tail– went equally said as unsaid. Much too strongly implied for it to be merely hinted at. Claw like fingers reach up to shift the mask, to see more of his previously-considered-prey. Giving a face to a voice, while usually unnecesary, seemed more vital in this situation when they wanted to strike a deal.

“See, there is that word: almost. They were almost defenseless, not completely, and the one defense they had was their vile humanity. They had every chance to stop their own fates, but instead they committed the most unspeakable act of villainy, one of which can only be righted through their deaths. You cannot put aside what i have done because what I am looking for was taken by thEM.” Impassioned voice rose louder, anger rippling through like lightening in the echo of the abandoned place, and furious face took a deep breath to try and calm himself. 

“I linger because I need you, and I offer a truce. Many moons ago, there was a sharp increase of killings, yes? Violently mutilated, but no part of them eaten? Something along those lines? Around that time, I was taken from my husband - his curse similar to mine yet worse as he has been made to only feed on me. I know he went searching for me, but his clock was ticking far faster than my own and I know that these depraved things you dare to protect that had to audacity to rip me from my home know where he is and I will continue to hunt them down until I find him.” 

            CINDERS— HEARING THE OTHER SPEAK only proved their monsterous nature, but in Uthric’s eyes, that was nothing too surprising. No. The surprising part was their passion, the reason behind the madness, the thing (whatever it might be) having been taken away being so precious that they no longer cared for the appearance of sanity. An intensity that played well with Uthric, a sense of familiarity blooming merely because he knows the emotion flowing through them, even if it was for a wholly different reason and purpose. 

              Their knowledge was already familiar, but not unequally as surprising. It was his original target that had led him here in the first place-- so to hear of it from another monster that had escaped was not something that had happened before. Except... They were a pair? This was news too. Not anything he had heard of before, but it did not matter. They were both beasts, even if one was simply triggered by the other being taken away. Far too volatile to remain alive, especially after he saw the damage one of them could do on their own.

              Ofcourse, Uthric knew better than to tell the creature this. Such thoughts were better kept on their own, especially when something as volatile as them was the target. Instead, he widens his already present grin, and lets eyes curve upwards as he does, shifting slightly to be less intimidating in his stature. “Alright. I will take that offer. I will help you.” He starts, “And you will stop hunting the people around here.” Deciding it is better to leave their mention as small as he could, he moves on quickly. “We can decide on what you might give me in exchange for... clemency later.” He adds, eyes staring intently at the other. 

…Especially so when the other spoke of unfortunate cinders. It'd be a error on his part to assume that it was just barely lit ash. He wasn't unprepared by any means but….

This wasn't a fight he really wanted to have now — not when he wasn't crystal clear on how far the other companion was at the moment.

Hazel eyes level the other with yet another intense stare, as if he seems to be contemplating his next step, but ultimately his hand drifts away from his weapon and now opts to simply rest at his side. He was not looking for a fight and, as much as he believed that perhaps it could come to one… it'd be best if he wasn't the one to instigate it.

“… Fair enough and well said.” he mumbles just loud enough for the other man to hear, “It'd be foolish to try your patience further, knowing all that now….no?”

“Now” as if he didn't know some of that in part before.

             CINDERS— AS THEIR HAND drifted from their weapon and their intent changed, Uthric's stance relaxed too. Especially with the words that followed, eyes narrowing just faintly despite the relaxation, unable to shake the feeling that wariness should be applied in this interaction even if they had yet to prove this feeling anything more than paranoia.

           "I admit," he starts with a slight upwards tilt of his lips, slightly baring the blackened fangs hidden beneath, "That it was my intention to measure you up and consider my next move." He says with a sense of honesty that he doesn't usually reserve for the.. monsterous.

           "What should I do.." His grin grows, eyes making slight upwards crescents as it does, "I would usually attack-- Someone pretending to be a sheep while truly being a wolf should not be allowed to roam free. Especially considering that, as you said yourself, you are not easily killed in case you do decide that any mortal has had quite enough time." His sword tilts slightly as if to see if the slight motion would be enough to trigger a response from them.
