“… your jacket for me.” 

A jacket.

The fabric caressing her shoulders, despite being warm, did more to freeze her than the rain drenching her body. She shot her glance up at the man beside her, more bewildered than ungrateful for the kind gesture. It wasn’t every day that someone put their jacket over her, much less to shield her from perverse glances.

Was he… Yoo Sijin?

She never really studied the face of her saviour properly, her vision predominantly obscured by the arms she was nestled into upon her rescue. That, and as far as her memory took her, she had constantly phased in and out of consciousness, and Jinri could hardly remember seeing natural light, let alone memorable faces. This could be any gentleman with common courtesy, offering their hoodie for her modesty.

Yet again, how many kind-hearted men did she know? Being around a man that wanted to protect her rather than take advantage of her was a rarity.

So much so, that she almost believed that this was the soldier that saved her all those months ago. She couldn’t be sure however, and her lack of certainty caused her to hesitate in stating the name she memorised. Instead, she uttered a rather vague statement, a comment that the stranger could interpret how he pleased… To test whether the stranger was the soldier she faintly remembered:

but he isn’t the same person anymore. and he isn’t a soldier, either.

he grins anyway, though. the smile on his face is small and sincere as he adjusts the hoodie over her shoulders, pulling at it by the strings and only letting his hands fall away once he’s certain that it’s secure. that she’s warm. all the while, he can feel her eyes on him. sheer confusion and surprise radiates off of her in waves and it takes all of sijin’s willpower to refrain from pulling the hood up and over her head. ( whether it’s to give her a chance to hide behind it or so that he can hide away himself, though, he isn’t entirely sure. )

however, when she finally speaks, it’s sijin who’s left surprised.

her voice is soft and brittle, almost inaudible above the tinny sound of seoul afternoon traffic -- but it’d be impossible for him to miss it. or to miss the meaning behind the words themselves, either. 

as he considers his answer, he looks down at her and studies her face openly, this time -- maybe for the first time, really. it would be easy, sijin thinks, to simply feign ignorance. to tuck away the memory of a broken woman, to let her keep those demons to herself. to offer her a small piece of privacy in his silence...

but sijin has spent a lifetime keeping silent and, for once, he finds it in himself to be honest. at least to her, at least for this.

who would be the one to randomly adopt a puppy without consultation: Yeeun.

who would force the other to take aesthetic pictures of them: Sijin. I feel like he’d be the tourist everywhere they go.

who would do stuff they think is stupid just to make the other one happy: Yeeun, definitely. Because Sijin doesn’t think they’re stupid. 

who picks out the horror movies to watch just so the other will cling to them: Sijin, because he’s a little turd like that.

who is constantly studying and who is constantly trying to distract them: Sijin the disciplined student, Yeeun the annoyance.

who initiates the facetime calls whenever they’re separated: Yeeun.

who is more likely to storm out after a fight and who is more likely to cry when they do: Yeeun. She would probably cry after she’s out of his sight.

who stays up way too late binge-watching their favorite shows: Yeeun does, forces Sijin to do the same. He falls asleep halfway through.

who bites the other’s ear when they’re feeling frisky: Sijin.

who sprays the other with water when they’re washing the car: Sijin. And then gives her his jacket. (can I get an amen for DotS reference—)

who has more fun decorating the house during holidays: Both.

who is more likely to give the silent treatment when they’re mad at the other: Yeeun.

who plays with the others’ hair more: Sijin. He likes to get creative and try to braid it. Often fails to.

who is more likely to climb all over the other one when they’re bored: Yeeun. She’d downright sit on top of his work and take up his whole attention.

who tries to kiss the other as often as they can: Sijin.

who pouts when the other one tells them to shut the fuck up: Yeeun.

who initiates the sex and who walks away when the other is riled up: Both would, and Yeeun would walk away.  

who always forgets the umbrella and who holds it when they actually have one: Yeeun doesn’t use one, Sijin would hold it because ‘gentleman’ ways.

who demands showering first in the mornings: Sijin. He doesn’t demand it, he just does.

who sneaks into the shower with the other one in the mornings: Yeeun. She’d probably fall back asleep in there though, glued to his back.

who prefers riding the roller coasters and who prefers playing the games: Yeeun likes the rides, since she can’t beat Sijin at any of the games. The latter prefers the games. Especially point-and-shoot.

who will text the other one thirty times in a row until they respond: Yeeun.

who always forgets to charge their phone overnight: Yeeun.

who comes up behind the other and slide their hands into their back pockets: YEEUN.

who tries to get hugs from the other as often as they can: Sijin.
