YouTubeās been doing this thing lately where their ad algorithm tries to time automatically inserted ad breaks to fall on black frames in the video, on the theory that a pure black frame is likely to form part of a transition between scenes, and the ad is thus less likely to cut a line of dialogue in half or whatever.
Unfortunately, the algorithm cannot distinguish between black frames that form part of scene transitions and black frames inserted for other dramatic purposes, with the result that Iāve watched videos whose ad breaks are perfectly timed to match, among other things:
Entering a dark room
The trigger of a gun being pulled
The beat between the setup and the punchline of a visual pun
A PoV shot in which the viewpoint character blinks
The protagonist getting punched in the face
If their goal was to make the timing of automatically inserted ad breaks feel less random, well, they succeeded!

Theyāre probably not called that, but Iām pretty sure Hobbits, at least, have put other foods between slices of bread for eating with one hand while holding a tankard of ale in the other

Okay so hear me out, but thereās only a few families that could really be considered āhobbit nobility,ā right? And we know that old Gorbadoc Brandybuck was somewhat renowned for his love of food, yes?
What if, among hobbits, dishes consisting of other foods between two slices of bread are known not as āsandwiches,ā but as ābrandy hallsā? Or rather, I think it would be more often contracted to ābrandyhallsā.
I checked The Hobbit, The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, and Lord of the Rings, and while hobbits appear to be very fond of toast, especially with cheese, honey, or meat, I couldnāt find any references to a sandwich as such. I very much like the idea of a Brandyhall, but I have to admit that I wouldāve named it a Buckhall, slurred to aĀ ābuckle,ā so-called because if you do it right
the table buckles and yours burst.

The main problem is that Iām pretty sure a ābuckleā is already a type of baked food similar to a pie or a crisp, not sure if that matters in Middle Earth just saying there could be some confusion
A quick Google search tells me that a buckle is a sort of streusel coffee cake and also that I need to find a recipe for it, but I donāt necessarily think this invalidates the buckle idea. See, itās called a brandyhall in Buckland, but the rest of the Shire calls it a buckle and they call the cake a heavy fruit struesel. This leads not only to confusion, but also to petty inter family fightingā¦ ever seen someone who says casserole meet someone who says hot dish?
Those Brandybucks, people in Hobbiton mumble disapprovingly over their tea and buckles. Odd as Tooks, they are, excepting Tooks call their food by its proper name.
Meanwhile hobbits in Bree call it a milker and no one is quite sure what to make of that.

I'm depressed as fuck and used to do this, so I know why you wanna keep going. That being said
4 reasons to stop by a depressed person
You'll feel better! You are not venting you're convincing your subconscious that you're worthless! Look up other methods of venting! (Personally I open a recording app and just go nuts talking about everything that sucks)
You make people uncomfortable! Yes even the ones who are also depressed and should find it #relatable. We don't, its 100% uncomfortable! (If this is a cornerstone of your humor, try talking about memes and messing with your grammar in a way that is obviously intentional. It's silly and non offensive)
You could trigger other people by doing this! I straight up drop friends who do this bc it makes me have suicidal intrusive thoughts! (Seriously. This is not a joke. I drop them on sight. Me being suicidal is not worth you getting momentary gratification)
It is SO EMOTIONALLY TAXING to have to put up with someone who is constantly putting themselves down and refusing to accept criticism on their unhealthy habits. So much so that you likely lose out on friends because of it! (Once again! One of the reasons I drop people who do this! It is EXHAUSTING being friends with people like this!)
IN CONCLUSION
