Capo of the Swamp

My ranger Amaruq was once part of a nomadic clan in the northern tundra before he was enslaved for years by an archfey. After escaping he tried to return home, but the clan believed him dead. He was disowned by his mother who believed him a wraith wearing the face of her son. He was feared by his friends because of how much he had changed. For six years he struggled to find his place in a home that shunned him until the day he met Hesker.

Spatts are feline-like insectoid with three pairs of legs and eight eyes. They're the size of regular housecats and very popular on the countryside for keeping both insects and rats/mice at bay. They come in a range of colours from solids to tricolours with varying patterns. Due to their silky fur and big curious eyes they've become popular outside of farms and versions that doesn't create webs have become popular among the middle and upper classes.

Calikis are squirrel-sized ground dwelling mammals which in the wild use their scaled bellies to slide down hills to escape predators. They are usually grey or brown in colouration but on rare occasions also blonde. Diet consists of smaller insects and fruits. They're curious and slightly mischievous, using their nimble hands to break into all your cookie jars.

Lowlets are an avian mammal with a distinct bird-like body and face, a mimicry which seems to have developed to lure and hunt owls. They are highly intelligent and can be trained to do different tricks, mimic sounds and hunt. This is a common pet among nobles who enjoy hunting smaller game. Lowlets are difficult to keep at home and requires large aviaries and stimulations to be comfortable. They come in a large array of colours and patterns.

Santercas are marsupials the size of a small pony which have become popular due to their striking black and white fur and graceful movements. They're very social and bond easily with people and animals alike, however they are also quite territorial when it comes to their family units - so having random people come to the front door tend to make them act out. This behaviour can, with a lot of time and effort, be trained away… mostly.

Listokanas are chicken-sized reptiles that were originally bred for their meat. However, their cute chubby bodies and baby-like movements even as adults made people go crazy for them. Today they are seen more as pets than a farm animal around larger cities, but out on the countryside it's still fairly common to see them raised for egg- and meatproduction. The Listokanas live in flocks where the females are larger than males, but males tend to have brighter coloured chests.

Kiskins are dog-sized semi aquatic warmblooded reptiles that hail from the Estavillett Isles but for the past decade has spread like wildfire in the pet-trade. They are often described as equally playful as they are stupid, however a well-trained kiskin can be a valuable companion for fishermen and aquatic hunters. Kiskins come in two versions: the frilled and the common. The common kiskin is larger and comes in a huge variety of colours and patterns. Meanwhile the smaller frilled kiskin is usually solid-coloured. What the frilled kiskin lacks in strenght it makes up in speed and ability to dive deeper.
