Living Life in Technicolor

It's funny how much can change in a year. One year ago I was a suicidal flight risk that didn't want to talk to you. It wasn't you, it was just that I hadn't showered in three days and I didn't want you to get as close as you were. Here we are a year later and I'm anxiously awaiting the day I get to be physically close to you again. All shiny and new and very into you.

I've been living in the past and telling stories to pass the time. Now I've reached the point in my life where I've run out of stories to tell. It's time to start living again.

It's been 3 years. 3 years since the last time I didn't feel cautious. 3 years since I pushed myself below the depths of the water because I thought that the pressure would ease my pain. It didn't. When I finally resurfaced the tears still fell. All I had managed to do was drown the last part of me that could ever feel truly happy.

The fantasies transformed. There were no limits. No laws. No inhibitions. Just two people so wrapped up in each other under the moonlight. The air is always crisp. Their smiles are always warm. Everything is just the way it should be. The way it would be if not for the darkness they held so deep inside that they didn’t even know it was there.
