I want to show you off. I want to take you around the world. I want to give you different parts of me in different places. I want to travel with you and try different coffee shops. I want to strip down to nothing in different places so you can explore my body while youâre exploring different parts of the world. I want to show you that no matter where we are Iâm still just as vulnerable for you. Letâs drive in your car with no destination. Passing road signs and state lines while Iâm sitting right by your side. Lets pull over on the side of the road and lay on your car and look at the stars. Then we can follow the moon and see where it leads us. One day, I want to love you. Here and there and everywhere. I want to show the world just how much I see in you. So they can believe it too.

The way we perceive time and history is so weird I get so tripped out when I think about how Cleopatra lived closer tot he iPhone being invented than she did to the Great Pyramids being built. Or how Stonehenge would have already been ruins when Jesus walked the earth or how Oxford University is older than the Aztec Empire or how Anne Frank and MLK were born in the same year like man this itâs all so crazy
this fucked me up
So I recently met with the coach at OSU, which is a D1 equestrian school, and it was the worst. Â How is it that even in college, only money can get you on the team? The coach was explaining to me that all these NCEA schools go to WEF and thermal and so on to recruit. He told me they go to these shows because most of the girls there have more than one horse, so they are used to riding a variety of horses, a skill vital to a college team. EXCUSE ME BUT IF YOU WANT A RIDER THAT CAN RIDE A VARIETY OF HORSES, HOW ABOUT YOU LOOK FOR GIRLS THAT RIDE LESSON HORSES??? I CAN ASSURE YOU EVEN THOUGH THE GIRLS AT WEF HAVE A TON OF HORSES, THEY ALL RIDE THE SAME. THEYâRE ALL PUSH BUTTON AND THEY ALL KNOW THEIR JOB PERFECTLY. IF YOU WANT A GIRL WHO CAN REALLY RIDE A âVARIETYâ OF HORSES, HOW ABOUT LOOK AT THE GIRLS THAT RIDE THE CRAZY GREEN LESSON HORSE AND THE LAZY LESSON PONY. THAT IS REAL RIDING, THAT IS THE TALENT THAT GOES UNRECOGNIZED, THAT IS THE TALENT THAT COULD HELP YOUR D1 TEAM, NOT SOME GIRL THAT HAS RIDDEN ON DADDYâS MONEY ALL THE WAY TO WEF. (and if anyone out there is on a D1 team and Iâm totally off then plz tell me)

I hate it some of these âsuccessfulâ equestirans say they âearned their way to the top.â You clearly didnât, so at least have the decency to admit you bought your way there.Â

Nothing reminds you youâre the angry feminist of the family quite like the holidays.
David Sterckx is a former Belgian showjumper who competed at national and international level. Heâs now established as a trainer in California.
He talks to Belgian reporters from Lewb Equi TV about his experience in the United States and the differences between the american and european showjumping cultures.
I was rather interested by some of the points he raised : how the relation with the trainer and the showsâ organisation differs, and the cost of riding and showing in America. Though I imagine prices are increased by the Californian cost of life, and are probably specific to the English-riding world.
But still a very interesting point of view on the differences between two continents.
I understand that shows are on some kind of level and also barns that do organize these events but 1000$ for an entry? Are you kidding me?! Horse riding should keep on the fancy level but not like this. Every child that loves horses should be able to afford his passion, to appreciate theses gorgeous creature to have a connection. Not constantly worry about being able to afford cheapest saddle pads and vet for sick horse.
Itâs not $1000 for an entry. Itâs $1000 for the entire bill. And yeah Iâve gone to a rated show (in Texas) and that price is inflated. Granted my barn doesnât use grooms and we werenât there the whole week but my bill was about half that (however, I did only training classes so the entry fees were cheaper but still the junior jumper from my barn didnât pay all that much more than me and she entered in the prix too).
^ I go the that show (Flintridge) and the bill usually comes out to 2000. But that includes the training, tailoring, and grooming fees... It's insanely expensive and waaaaaay overpriced
