“Ayo J I’m just picking up my bag, I texted you, but you didn’t reply” It was Derrick that made me sigh out of relief. He was standing in the doorway, so he couldn’t see what was going on on the couch.
I fell off of Alana and tried to act as normal as possible.
“Hey” he said to Alana smiling.
“uh hi” she said smiling. She sounded confused about what just happened I could tell.
He went in his room and got his gym bag. “Alright, I’m leaving. The bus is downstairs” He looked at Alana’s neck where a trail of hickies were. Fuck. “Have fun” He smirked. I don’t think he recognized her cause he was drunk last night and her hair was curly now, probably thought she was some random girl on campus.
“Aiight whoop some ass”I said
“Good looks” he said as he walked out the door smiling.
As soon as he walked out the door I looked at Alana who was biting her lip.
“I’m sorry” I said. I thought she was mad at me for kissing her
“…For what? I’ve been waiting for that” She mumbled the last part. I looked down at her neck and smiled
“Shit.” She realized what I was smiling at.
“Come here” I replied while I walked to the kitchen and put a spoon in the freezer. She leaned on the counter and sighed.I took the spoon out and placed it on her neck. She trembled because of the coldness.
“W-why’d you kiss me?” she said nervously tilting her neck
“It was the right moment.”
There was silence. I pushed her curly hair off of her neck to check if the hickeys went down, they did.
“Is it gone?” She asked, she sounded scared.
“Don’t be scared baby girl Josh won’t know.”
I put my fingers to her lips. She followed my direction. I could tell she was nervous as hell. Not because of Josh, but because I felt something when I kissed her and I wasn’t supposed to.
“Just calm down. No one will find out” I smiled, “Damn are you ashamed of me or something?”
She smiled too. “No its just….you know”
“We’ll just forget about it.” She said. I nodded
My phone rang. it was Josh he forgot his keys and wanted someone to open the door downstairs for him.
“Ima go get the door for Josh”
OMFG me and Jermaine just kissed. Nah not even kissed made out. His lips felt so good. Wait I can’t like him right? He’s my brother’s bestfriend. They would hate each other if we went out…right? I heard them talking while walking through the front door.
“Hey baby sis” he said smiling he had his foot locker shirt on
“hey” I smiled back. I looked at Jermaine who was just smiling at me.
“Nigga you been spending too much time with my sister you starting to smell like her” Josh said joking
“Nah she sprayed perfume and it caught me off guard.” He lied
Josh laughed. Good he didn’t suspect anything.
“So what you wanna do while you here La?”
“I don’t know, what’s fun here?”
“You want me to give you a tour of campus?”
“sure that sounds fun” I smiled
“Alright lemme change out of this uniform”
Josh changed out of his uniform and we went out. He took me around the campus and for a late lunch. I loved my big brother, but he was such a hypocrite. He would act like we’re not 1 year apart, treating me like a little girl. He would go out and tell me im too young nigga what? I knew I was probably gonna go to college up here in New York. I mean my parents wouldn’t mind cause Josh is up here. It would be perfect. The campus of St. John’s was so nice, but NYU was where my heart was. We came back at around 7 and Jermaine wasn’t there. I caught Josh up with all that was going on in the Ville and we listened to some beats he made.
“Why isn’t Mainey rapping anymore?” I asked
“He’s getting caught up in this college world.”
I shook my head. “He gotta get back on it, I mean that’s why you and him came up here”
“I know, I tell him and he says he will.”
A few minutes later Jermaine walked through the door with Katrina.
“Hey y’all” He said happy
“Wassup” Josh said in monotone, because he was in his zone
“Hi.” I said trying not to give attitude, but I failed. I looked at his neck to reveal a trail of hickies going down to his chest. WHAT.THE.FUCK. I was so confused. Katrina followed him to his room and they locked the door. Josh was in his zone making beats so I was just sitting on the couch. I decided to text Kiara I was going to the hotel tonight since we were leaving early tomorrow morning. She responded OK can’t wait to see you girl! She was always so hyper, but not annoying hyper which is why I loved her. After about 20 minutes Jermaine and Katrina came out his room. Katrina waved bye to me and then went to kiss Jermaine. I’m not going to lie I was eyeing the hell out of them. How was he just going to kiss me then get back with her. Wait, he could do that I didn’t have any reasons to catch feelings.
“Yo La you want me to drop you off?” Josh asked
“Oh shit you didn’t meet Derrick our other roommate. I forgot. Did J tell you about him?” he asked. Mmm, I met him alright.
“Oh yea he said he was a basketball player”
“Yea he is. Starting five” He smiled.
“Aw shoot” I said laughing, acting like I didn’t know this information already.
Jermaine walked through the door. He looked me dead in the eyes. I guess I gave him a stank look because he gave me a confused look. I just rolled my eyes. Was he really this dumb. I put on my jacket and got my things together.
“You leaving already?” Jermaine asked smirking
“Yea, we’re leaving tomorrow morning,” I said in a monotone voice because I was upset with Jermaine
“Why you sound so sad?” Josh asked “You don’t wanna leave your bro?” He smiled and gave me a playful hug.
“Yup that’s it” I said playing along
Jermaine stood up to give me a hug. I hesitated at first, but ended up embracing his body.
“Bye baby girl can’t wait to see you again next month.”
“Bye Maine” I regretted everything that happened.
I got my bags and went to Josh’s car. He then dropped me off at the hotel. This trip was interesting. Definitely didn’t go as planned.
Josh was in the shower and his phone kept on ringing. I checked it to see who it was. It was Alana. I smiled while answering it.
“Yes?” she asked with a attitude
“Can I speak to my brother? I mean I did call his phone” I never heard her have an attitude towards me before, she was always nice so this caught me off guard.
“Nah, he’s in the shower. I’ll tell him to call you when he gets out.” I answered “Are you mad at me?”
“No. It’s just…No” She responded.
“What’s wrong forreal?” I asked “You mad about Katrina?”
She let out a sigh. “It’s just…you’ll see trust me”
“Alright.” I said confused
“Look I gotta go. Can you tell Josh to call me when he gets out?”
“alright , bye baby girl”
The phone just clicked off. Damn what did I do? I couldn’t ask Josh if she had said anything cause he didn’t know anything happened. She had told me to forget about the kiss so I did. Josh came in.
“Call Alana, she kept calling your phone so I picked up cause I thought something was wrong” I lied. I just really wanted to talk to her.
“Iight. And sorry for leaving her with you the other day. I wasn’t supposed to work” He said
“Nah, it’s cool I didn’t mind.” I smiled
