My Experience in You Are Here Cafe
You Are Here Cafe is owned by EatYourKimchi and TalkToMeinKorean (both YouTubers) that is located in Hongdae, Seoul.Β
EatYourKimchi is famous for trying different things, trying different foods, going to different places in Korea.
TalkToMeinKorean is famous for teaching some basics of the Korean language to foreigners through YouTube.Β
Together, they both own a cafe called theΒ βYou Are Hereβ Cafe and was opened in 2014, August 9th.
You Are Here Cafe is famous for its yummy and delicious milkshakes and cakes as well as coffees. TalkToMeinKorean in the You Are Here Cafe offer Korean lessons and you can also film yourself in theΒ βSpeakerβs Cornerβ booth where you answer some questions that are displayed on the television screen in front of you and EatYourKimchi will upload the video on their channel.
My Experience:
It wasnβt difficult to find the cafe (even though it is located a little bit distant from the shopping malls and company buildings) as because I was watching MartinaβsΒ βDirections to the You Are Here Cafeβ video on their channel and just followed her instructions. All I had to do was find some company signs and shops in order to get to the right destination.
The video was truly helpful because without the video, I wouldnβt even know where to go, which station to exit and which direction to go.
As I entered, the picture of the cafe looked the same in real life so I was already jumping with excitement when I finally found it in the 1 degree cold weather. It was also snowing so, thatβs worse.
The interior design is amazing. Itβs very bright, colourful and mesmerising. Itβs very appealing to me because as much as I love my whites, greys and blacks, the cafe looked attractive, even to kids. Itβs very cozy as well, so thatβs a plus.Β The concept is very unique and fun. If I lived in Seoul, I would at least come here once a week and become a regular customer of theirs. :) Well, too bad that Iβm not living in Seoul. :(
I ordered their Hot Green Tea Latte and it was surprisingly good. I mean, itβs on the same level as Starbucksβ Green Tea Latte, which is impressive especially when this cafe just opened less than two years ago.Β
I could really taste the green tea thatβs in the latte and itβs not too sweet. Iβm glad they didnβt add too much sugar because Iβm health conscious now. The price is quite reasonable (even though itβs considered a little bit pricey compared to my country) but I would definitely come back to drink it again. Also, love the paper cupΒ βTell me itβs real Queenβs Shakeβ. Haha! Got me laughing there!
Next, I decided to try their famous and popular Oreo Milkshake (the recipe is made by Simon from EatYourKimchi). Itβs amazing. Itβs not too sweet (but it does have sweetness in the drink), itβs so delicious and yummy, creamy and smooth. Itβs blended so well and I can really taste the yummy and slightly crunchy oreo in the oreo milkshake. Itβs heavenly.
I can totally tell why the Oreo Milkshake is one of their best drinks there. Itβs that amazing. If you ever go to the You Are Here Cafe, drink this, itβs a must!
Another amazing thing is that their Wi-Fi username and password cracked me up!
Username: Where Are You?
Password: youarehere
They also have three different types of Wi-Fi. I think there are two on the first floor and one on the second floor. Plus, itβs super fast. ^^
I have yet to try their cakes and amazing delicacies. I didnβt get to try them because number one, I didnβt have time and number two, I was full with the two drinks that I drank. I will come back one day to try it.Β #noregrets.
I am overall, impressed with not only their interior design and concept of their cafe (which is very unique and cute at the same time), but the drinks were really good too. I had mixed feelings before stepping into the cafe but after trying out their drinks, I think You Are Here Cafe has potential to become one of the top cafes in Hongdae (hopefully in Seoul too, because there are so many good cafes out there, itβs like a competition).

Tips on Travelling in Seoul
Seoul is a city where itβs famous for its food, shopping, touristy places, culture, music, kdramas and more! Here are the 15 Tips that I have accumulated and listed down after visiting Seoul in November 2015.
1. Donβt be afraid to ask local Koreans, especially those who are around their teens and 20β²s, questions for directions if you donβt know the directions to go to places that you want to go. They most likely will understand English, Mandarin and maybe Japanese (I wonβt guarantee that they will understand those three at once though).
2. Use Seoulβs Subway Station for transportation because it is the cheapest transport to go around Seoul. Taxis are cheap in Seoul as well.
3. Here are the places where you can shop for certain things and hang-out:
Myeongdong- Makeup, Skin care and beauty related stuff.
Hongdae- Coffee places, cafes and little restaurants.
Ehwaβs Women University and Dongdaemun- Clothes, clothing items, fashion and accessories.
Gangnam- Clothes, makeup, beauty related stuff, skin care, coffee places (some people claim that itβs SeoulβsΒ βhipsterβ street)
4. You can only claim your tax refund if you spend 30,000KRW and more in certain beauty stores (mainly in Myeongdong, they provide tax refunds, some shops outside of Myeongdong donβt).Β
5. You can claim your tax refund in Myeongdong.
6. Sometimes, some cashiers wouldnβt know if you want a tax refund so youβll have to ask for it if you have spent 30,000KRW or more. Just sayΒ βTax Refundβ, theyβll understand it. You will receive envelopes (with your receipts) that look like this:Β
7. You can also claim your tax refund at the Incheon International Airport after checking in. Just hand in your envelopes that contain your receipts in theΒ βTax Refundβ counter that has an orange sign.
8. Instead of staying at a budget hotel in Seoul that costs like $100+ per night, go to airbnb.com (which is a homestay website) andΒ rent a whole apartment or studio for more than one night that can cost less than $90 per night and most of them have washing machines, kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, heaters, air-conditioners, better Wi-Fi connection, etc. If youβre really on a tight budget and anything above $30 per night is expensive for you, definitely try couchsurfing.com. Whatβs that? Basically you stay over at someoneβs house for free but youβre most likely sleeping on a couch instead of a bed. Itβs safe, free and you can interact with them.Β
9. Keep in mind that not all Korean public toilets have thoseΒ βsquatty potsβ. They also have the common toilet bowls so donβt be worried.
10. Definitely check out Seoulβs street foods especially in Myeongdong. Seoul is also famous for their chicken skewers that are very cheap in food stalls around the streets. Not only that, try eating their 32cm ice-cream, jipangyi ice-cream, ddeokbokki (spicy rice cakes), egg cakes, fish cakes, goldfish bread with sweet red bean paste, etc. Theyβre all really delicious.
11. For meals, definitely try out their chim-ddak (chicken and transparent chewy noodles), samgyeopsal (Korean Barbecue), Kimbap (similar to sushi, but all their ingredients are cooked and the size of kimbap is bigger than sushi and more affordable), jjangjjangmyeon (black bean paste noodles), pajeon (Korean savoury pancakes), bibimbap, etc.
12. You can use your debit or credit card in Seoul, but only in those walk-in shops that are air-conditioned (mostly selling clothes, beauty products, electronic devices, stationery, groceries, convenient stores, etc.). Do bring the Korean currency i cash with you because there are some Korean stores that donβt accept cards. Remember to convert your currency to the Korean currency before coming to Seoul.
13. You donβt need to buy a mobile data plan (if youβre just travelling in Seoul) because in Seoul, thereβs literally Wi-Fi everywhere and theyβre mostly unlocked and donβt require a password to use it.
14. If you want to go to those touristy places, try going to the Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village and if youβre adventurous, try going for a ski. Korea is also famous for skiing during the winter time.
15. When shopping, even if the cashier gives you a ton of free beauty samples, keep asking for more. Some are not even hesitant to give you more free samples because that would make them earn more money if you come back to buy the full-sized version.
Thatβs all for today! I hope you guys enjoyed this post. :)

Best burger I've ever tasted in my whole entire life. Better than Burger King, hands down. Prawn and potato salad was awesome as well.
