It's my 10 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳 Seriously? I come in and see this first thing? Wow I've been around a while. :3

I'm not on my Tumblr as much as I'd like to be. I hear a lot that the site is basically a ghost town at this point. But it's somewhere I like to come back to and basically curate a little happy place for when the world is too much. On May 27th of this year our house burnt down. We lost everything and what could have been saved was either smoke damaged or looted. Our local fire marshal told us we could not take anything until an investigation was done. The cause of the fire according to the report was undetermined. As my husband was home and in our bedroom where the fire started, it was the old baseboard heater. It had been a fear the entire time we'd lived there but we figured if we made it inaccessible, there was no way it could randomly get turned on. Instead it just made it to where it was near impossible to get to when the electrical fire started in the wall. I was out picking up my inhalers at the time when he called me frantic that there was smoke and he couldn't get to the fire. He got our daughter out, the fire department got our cats out. We've been living in a hotel for the past several months due to the high rent prices. We've been struggling to find a place here or anywhere really in our price range. We thought we had found a place just the other day but the car keys went missing when we were supposed to go look at it. By the time we found them it had already been rented. We're struggling to make the week of Oct. 3rd's weekly rate. We pay $545 a week to be here and up until now overtime has taken care of it. We were short $275 last time. This time we're short $345 because the overtime from this week won't post until the next paycheck. I cannot put into words the pain of trying so hard to find a roof where things will not be tight like this so we can rebuild our life. And no matter what it's not happening, no matter how hard we try. We've tried all local assistance and we've found no one who will help in this sort of situation. You have to be in a home for them to even bother to help.
