- Iris by Mimi Zou Source : Dezeen magazine Royal College of Art Mimi Zou's official website The Royal College of Art in London has just had its 2012 graduate showcase, as a whole a truly inspirational event, however what struck me the most was this designers work. The Iris is an inspiration and an innovation to photographers anywere. I have just watched the vimeo video which you can watch here, my jaw absolutely dropped.. I thought this is the coolest thing ever. The fact that it locks onto your eye, and is controlled by your eye movements is truly remarkable. Zou also showcased the working model at her graduate show. The Iris has some pretty standard camera features on it such as an SD Card, Wifi and the ability to recognise and tag faces. This last feature which is enabled by the Iris's built in biometric data sensor needs the users and subjects information to be imputted before it can recognise faces, which is a nice touch, as it will avoid unwanted tagging. I hope to see the Iris on sale soon. -binoculars
