“Ooh, can’t risk the upgrades, can we? But I’m sure with that face, you could get just about any upgrade you want…as long as you asked nicely, of course. This place really is beautiful, though, I promise your stay will totally be worth it–and it’ll be way nicer than any Hilton.”

“Is that a compliment, Neil? I’m pretty sure that was a compliment.” She grinned at him. “Alright -- is that your personal guarantee?”

It’s not… Okay fine, it’s my cat. Please don’t tell the management. We’re not really allowed pets here.

I assumed that when you mentioned ‘illegal’ before. But please, try to keep it away from me because I don’t mix well with cats. They absolutely hate me for whatever reason.

“I haven’t, no. I feel like I should probably just throw on my bikini and dive in, stop wasting time.”

“Not that high expectations, really. I haven’t been to one of those in years.”

“Well, high expectations for me seeing as my one stay at Hilton was the most luxurious stay I’ve ever had at a hotel before.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment, so thanks. I kind of treat it like it’s my own child, heh. Well, to be fair, Royal Haven might as well be the Hiltons twin sister or something. You’ll be surprised what other nice things we have around here.”

“I actually haven’t had the chance to explore those nice things yet. What else is there to enjoy?”

What? No, I’m serious! I lost my- I mean, it’s not, uh, it’s not mine. I saw it run in here, and then I lost it. So I have to find it again. You sure you haven’t seen it?

You haven’t seen a cat around here, have you? It’s a small, black cat, with a white stomach. It’s, uh… It ran into the hotel, and you know, pets are illegal around here. So I gotta find it to, uh, get it to an animal shelter. Or something.

“I’m glad that you’re enjoying Royal Haven, Miss… I’m sorry, are you new here? I’ve never seen you around before.”

“Totally new -- I just got my bags up to my room, I’m Camila. What is it that you do here?”

“Remind me to do the same if I should ever get around to stay at a HIlton. Cami it is, I’m Chloe. If you should be able to come up with a nickname for that let me know.”

“I don’t know if it’ll work but it’s always worth a try. Chloe, wow, I don’t think I’ll be able to nickname that.”

“Aw, damn, I was planning on calling her up to let her know her hotels are losing their charm, but if you insist, it’ll be our little secret. Though, I have to ask, is it the pool that’s got you totally in love with this place? Or is there more that I’m missing?”

“You can’t play me like that -- she’ll know and I won’t get any more free upgrades. Honestly, I’ve only seen my room and the pool so far so it’s definitely the pool but it’s also all I need to enjoy my stay here.”

“They upgraded you for free? How? Sounds like we’ll see eachother more often then. We can be pool buddies.”

“I don’t know -- I asked them if I could check in a little earlier and they upgraded me. Pool buddies? I’m all for it. I’m Camila, but as my pool buddy, you can call me Cami.”

“Then, may I ask, how this pool is better than a pool at the Hilton? It’s just a tub full of water.”

“For starters, the Hilton I stayed at didn’t even have a pool, and it was in the middle of winter in New York City. This? This is like paradise compared to that.”

“Can’t say I know the feeling. Maybe it’s because I’ve been working here too long–or because I can’t remember the last time I was anywhere near a Hilton. I’ll take your word for it, though.”

“I mean, I’ve only stayed at a Hilton once so I don’t have a lot to go off but I’m pretty sure this beats it. Don’t tell Paris Hilton I said that, though.”

“Makes me even prouder to work here and I’ve never been to a Hilton before. What’s up with their pool?” Gwen replied, but then she squinted her eyes and continued, “Unless you’re being sarcastic…”

“The pool here just screams luxurious, or maybe that’s just because I usually never stay at places like this.”

“I was about to say that the Hilton Hotel’s are pretty overrated anyways, but I never stayed at one so I guess I can’t really tell. I’ll agree with you on the pool though, it’s the place I spend most of my freetime at. That and my bed.”

“Maybe they’re overrated, maybe not. But they upgraded me for free so I’ve been in love with Hilton ever since. I feel like I could spend my entire visit either in the pool or by it.”

“Is it really that impressive?”

“No -- I was clearly just faking my reaction.”
