it was like moving through honey. her legs were iron and her steps had to carry purpose to lead her down the hallway that never seemed to end. in the back of her mind the scene played out like a broken record. billy, unable to look her in the eyes, daisy and her undeniably magnet pull as she had turned the corner as if physically wedging herself into the picture. camila knew it had been right under her nose for a long time — she wasn’t daft. she had chosen to ignore it hoping that it would fade away into the distance with time. but time had only fostered her resentment and their budding affection. her head spun and she almost passed wordlessly by eddie had it not been for the purpling splotch that caught her eye.
