Stressful days often meant that Selene needed to indulge her sweet tooth, and it had indeed been a stressful day. Or really, a stressful couple of days. The students were getting restless, with summer just around the corner, and it seemed that they were even less interested in anything that happened inside the classroom. Wonderland Bakery was on the way back to her apartment from the high school, and she had made up her mind to stop in. That hadn’t included running into someone else and getting coffee spilled all over her, the other person, and the floor of the bakery. Mortified, Selene blushed bright red. “I’m so sorry. I was in a bit of a rush to get home and I didn’t see you. Let me buy you another cup.”
Taking in the sight of the woman before him, he bent down to pick up the cup and toss into the bin at the doorway. This shirt would be stained until he could get it to dry-cleaning, he noticed and grimaced at the sight of it. In his haste, he hadn’t noticed that he recognized her from the high school. “Ms. Mendez. My apologies.” Instead of making it a bigger deal than it needed to be, however, he just shook his head. “No, no. Let me. I’ll pay for your.. clothing to be cleaned and buy you a coffee. If you’d like.” His demeanor hadn’t changed, but at least his words seemed to come across as friendlier than he was originally.
