There's NO WAY everyone else just feels fine 99% of the time...no headaches, no leg pain, no hand cramps, no nausea

this was when I was a bit worse off. What I did was waited almost four hours until I could have someone help me move. When you don’t get help, you don’t get care. When you don’t get care, you get worse. What do you really think happens? That we gain the ability to suddenly be able to do things for ourself solely because we have to wait? That we just gain the determination to push through if no one is there? It literally does not get done until someone is there to help. Something as basic as *peeing* too. And don’t forget how much it’ll take it out of you.

If you’re hungry and no one can help, you don’t eat. If you’re hungry and what someone served you won’t work for your GI system, you don’t eat, or you get fucked up. Your choice. How hungry are you? If you’re thirsty and no one answers a text to get you water, you don’t drink. You lay there, you wait, and you wait. When someone’s available, then you get your needs met too. If you’re lucky, it’s done right.

this assesses ur ability in the long term, so a mildly affected person might seem severe on crash days but in the long term still be able to walk and work, and a severe person might seem very severe on crash days but long term still be able to have a weekly trip out of the house, etc.

while im talking about severity i just wanna add that ‘mild’ ME is a misnomer; mild ME is often a severe illness as it involves a huge loss of functioning, typically over 50%. the severity scale is only in the context of other people with ME.

you have to be kinder to people who are slow processors.

you have to be kinder to people who don't understand your jokes.

you have to be kinder to people who forget important dates.

you have to be kinder to people with cognitive decline.

you have to be kinder to people who were always this way, too.

Give a big Fuck You to the fascists who want to control you, the capitalists who want to exploit you, and the vultures who want to make money off your insecurities by ignoring the "Time to get working on your beach body!" bullshit and instead committing yourself to something that is 100% proven to actually improve your health by protecting yourself from catching and spreading respiratory illnesses.
