Some pet peeves of mine in the hr fandom hcs/fanfics (in no specific order )
No hate to any writer!
1) Over use of the "favorite son" joke
It was said ONCE in the book and it was obviously a joke, but some people treat it as a fact, or even worse, make Shane be totally okay with it.
2) "Shane was such a selfish boyfriend"
Shane cannot read fucking minds, besides, everytime he tried to talk, Ilya pushed him away.
3) "Ilya should feel bad abt his past hookups"
Listen, I LOVE jealous Shane but the way some people describe Ilya's hookups as if he should be ashamed or as if it was only bc "he couldn’t have Shane" is bullshit.
4) "Shane was wrong for not trusting JJ"/"JJ had the right to be mad about it."
Do I really need to explain that one? Queer people👏 are not 👏forced 👏to come out 👏to you.
5) Overly woke Hayden.
"I'm not homophobic, I have gay friends" -Hayden Pike, probably.
6) Ultra-flamboyant Ilya Rozanov.
I just don't think he'd wear a pink fluffy jacket with feathers (wich sounds a lot like a Bi stereotype but shhh)
7) Any mentions of Shane and Ilya listening to Taylor Swift/pop music in general.
No.
8) Shane being treated like a dumb child for everyone (expecially Yuna).
You know what, that one is personal.
9) Shane calling Luca "his son"
I can see Ilya doing it as a joke, but Shane?
10) Ilya befriending random teenagers on socmed fics.
Ilya is a public figure, he'd know better than messaging underage girls online.
