The Moving, Malleable Multiverse

Because the nature of our consciousness is what motivates us to behave the way we do, I want to illustrate to people why I think that a standpoint that respects the freedom to choose and the freedom of individual expression is vital to advancing our collective consciousness in a positive direction. First, I’ll give an example of how many youtube users are making the average person look bad by refusing to tolerate a wide variety of opinions.

One thing you almost always encounter when reading the youtube comments under a video about someone’s psychedelic experience, is people who will attack and condemn these substances because of a bad trip they or someone they know allegedly endured. The common theme running through these reports, however, if you are presented with sufficient information, is that the person(s) ingesting the drug in question usually did so under sketchy circumstances, so it is no surprise that they found themselves working through a burdensome challenge. Never have I found a report about someone taking a psychedelic in a comfortable setting with people they know well enough to trust and having a bad time. Even if their mindset may have been reluctant or scared prior to dosage, people overwhelmingly report positive trips while in a suitable location with loved ones present. I believe it is a mistake to hastily conclude that the substance is to blame for an ignorant individual making an irresponsible decision and consequently facing a tough ordeal. This is a case where the quote ‘With great power comes great responsibility’ seems appropriate, and that’s the essence of liberty. And yet, you still have emotionally-charged scare tactics at work.

But people who report horror stories on anything often not only do just that but go as far as to call for continued prohibition of activities they find scary or unsavory and only the undoing of obviously unjust laws, like the criminalization of cannabis. These people can fool others into thinking they’re libertarian, when they’re in fact just partisan lefties who think it’s perfectly okay to jump in bed with the State to get their agendas the necessary exposure to be drafted for legislation. In other words, a lessening of control in one area to make some happy and a sneakier increase in control in another area. This is just Statist trickery.

In a broader sense, this lack of compassionate and informed judgment illustrates that the various careful considerations which a liberating medium like the internet requires are still not apparent to enough people, because they are operating the internet with a type of pre-ingrained consciousness that has been raised on garbage media and motivated by fear and suspicion. This means that we are still living within the infantile stage of this social platform, which makes sense because, in the scope of human history, it’s brand-new. We need to develop ourselves more and learn the skills needed for interaction on a global public forum. People too easily take this for granted when uploading videos and posting comments and forget that the application of the word ‘Public’ now encompasses more of the public than ever before in our recorded history. And this ignorant condition of the masses will take more time to ameliorate as long as the divisive discriminating tactics of the mainstream media continue to be consumed by viewers who maintain almost zero skepticism and only want to stare at pretty pictures to kill time or unwind from long shifts at work. You’re not improving your consciousness, you’re handing it over to be wasted on drivel that ultimately clouds your natural intuition and makes you more suggestible, easily persuaded, and guided around.

If you believe in the unregulated exchange of uncensored information, a viewpoint held by many millennials and older tech-savvy internet users, then you have the spirit of a libertarian. But too often, those who are adamant about the preservation of free speech won’t carry over their philosophy to advocate other important things, like economic freedom, freedom to explore altered states, and sexual freedom. This makes us hypocrites, because in order to achieve your wholeness as a person, it seems best to work on making your thoughts, words, and actions harmonious. Still many have had their minds so successfully conditioned by television, which promotes competition and separation, that they still cherry-pick issues, asserting that some things are fine for everybody and others are fine for nobody. They fight tooth and nail on global public forums with anyone who challenges their beliefs. This damages all parties involved, including the perception of the internet itself.

For instance, politicians with agendas, or anyone who holds political participation in high esteem, often hold the position that diminishing government involvement in our lives or limiting the power of federal agencies will lead to anarchy. They stake their claim based on the wrongful assumption that anarchy is synonymous with chaos and violence. History seems to dictate on the contrary that government involvement is what cultivates chaos and violence. This makes sense because the fundamental goal of government is managing its constituents and expanding its power whenever it’s able, and that brutish objective is inherently violent. Anarchy, on the other hand, is closer to libertarianism, because the lack of a central authority molds the average person to a lifestyle that demands tolerance, cooperation, and vigilance. It just goes with the territory, and so we must demonstrate its effectiveness online first, so it may one day translate to physical life. Doing the opposite, by trolling or generally behaving like a cruel misfit with a keyboard, indicates to the Statist that the anarchy of free speech is just as horrific as they imagined it. And thus, it gives fuel to politicians and social engineers to continue spreading the horrible idea that the flow of information must be fully regulated and controlled.
