Hi beloved and faithful fandom! :)

Sooo it’s been a year since the public disgrace that was the Rise of the Titans movie. And it’s been roughly 9 months since I pitched the idea of rewriting & redrawing the first two scenes and giving the fandom a better outlook on a possible franchise ending than what we got…!

Since then, this super awesome team that consists of @nikibogwater @guardianofideas @prismarts @e7y1 @capsulect @the-fandom-hopping-mage @malleepp @tenebrius-excellium @livmadart @squabasaurus @bluespiritslight @honeyxmonkey @noperopesaredope @sopafa (and @i-am-gun-robot as honorable mention) has worked really hard on writing and visualizing the two scenes that can be found in Reddie’s fix-it fic. 

It needs to be mentioned that life happened. A lot of us have been struggling with mental and physical health issues. Naturally, we have also prioritized our education, our income, and our families & friends over this. This was meant to be a fandom project without a certain time limit, so that we wouldn’t feel too pressured to perform. More than anything, we wanted and want this to be fun for the contributors. That’s the reason why we’re still kinda not done lol. 

However, we have made awesome progress!, as follows:

We wrote 2 scripts, one for the Prologue scene and one for the Café scene that gets our gang reunited after Wizards

We are almost done with the Prologue art, everything looks amazing, and so we have made our first attempt at producing a video clip

We have full visual backgrounds for the Café scene! Even better: They’re in 3D!

I have to thank the team at this point for investing into this and for sticking around with passion even after a year has passed since Tales of Arcadia ended officially. It still feels incomplete and I think we can all look forward to a clip that gives it a much better feel. Hello All! As my gift to you this lovely holiday season, I have made 60 new palettes and named them all after some great songs. Sooooooo, here is my updated Palette Challenge!

Feel free to send me one of these palettes along with a character(s) and I will try to get it done as soon as possible. I will draw stuff from any fandom I actively reblog. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have!

I would like to preface this by saying I truly love Blinky, he’s probably my second favorite character after Walt. And Blinky is a wonderful father figure  who deserves credit for being one of the primary emotional anchors for Jim, but please consider:

- It was both Blinky’s job and a huge honor for him to mentor the Trollhunter, regardless of who the amulet chose. It was against Strickler’s entire culture to care about Jim at all, and then Jim got the amulet, and caring about Jim was escalated to a death sentence. - Strickler lied to Bular and Gunmar’s faces to provide Jim safe spaces from them - Strickler was given an ultimatum to Kill Jim or Die, and instead rebuilt Merlin’s amulet just so they both had a chance to live another day - Strickler had every opportunity to kill Jim and be Gunmar’s champion before Jim knew he was a Changeling, and instead he let Bular get suspicious of him to buy Jim time, and himself time to figure out a way for them both to win - Strickler offered an olive branch to Jim after Jim learned that he was a Changeling, and still came with a backup plan to not have to kill him when that olive branch was rejected, despite knowing that failing here meant he would be executed - Strickler only got serious about harming Jim when Jim threatened to expose every changeling in the world by releasing the familiars. - Strickler repeatedly chose to be bullied and abused by Bular rather than letting him go after Jim

- and several more examples I can’t think of off-hand Look, I’m never going to argue that Blinky deserved the hugs. He does! Blinky’s wonderful. And Strickler is far from perfect, obviously. His relationship with Jim is rocky and recovering. This much is both true and fair.

But Blinky’s life was never at risk over Jim. Blinky’s people were never put at risk by his caring for Jim. Even when Trollmarket didn’t want Jim, Blinky had both the Amulet and eventually the Soothscryer on his side. His tradition and his culture protected him from scrutiny. Strickler had Gunmar. And Bular. And the Janus Order. All of whom wanted any living Trollhunter’s head on a pike ASAP and needed the amulet. And knowing this, Strickler kept all of them from doing Jim any real harm for as long as he possibly could. 

Strickler was the only one who understood being part of two worlds. Strickler was the one who knew Jim was a teenaged human boy and shouldn’t be dealing with all of this weight. Strickler was the one who understood from Day One that Jim didn’t deserve this, and played both sides of the field to help him until he literally couldn’t anymore.

My point is:

…. imagine this, in an unfortunate encounter Toby doesn’t really made the cut and gets killed off by Bular with the help of strickler

“Nononono Tobes, please, don’t leave me again”

And dies in Jim’s arms however with the amulet somehow still in his posession, maybe in Toby’s hand or something, and chooses Jim….AGAIN

“No, this wasn’t supposed to happen, this wasn’t mean to be like this”

And just cutting the whole thing and going straight up to Merlin for help, getting the time stone and resetting things again.

and again.

AND AGAIN. 

Until he realizes that no matter how many times he tries he can’t deny that some things are meant to be. People who were lost will be lost, no matter the way and he will always be the Trollhunter.
