Hey, anyone interested in Flambert media AU?
A few months back i had this idea for a fic based on what could happen post-canon Dispatch, that focuses on all characters' development after the game's canon end, as well as on the internet and "online" side of the Dispatch universe
Let me explain the "online" part
Imagine SDN hard-launching Mecha Man's return on their social media account and the internet EXPLODING
Not only one of the most famous heroes is returning from his self-proclaimed retirement, but he is placed with the newly reformed and fastly gaining recognition Z-Team? SDN are putting one of the best heroes in a team of ex-criminals!?!? WHY TF WOULD THEY DO THAT?!?!
Fans from all across the internet start digging and thought the process get weirdly invested in the Z-Team's dynamic. Particularly their online personas
Z-Team are absolutely unhinged online, so much so its a miracle SDN has not yet put PR teams behind their accounts or outright taken down and cleared all their posts
Their behavior gets them trending and that makes people start liking them and even forming fan bases around each hero (Prism, of course, already has fan base and popularity from before her contract with SDN, but for the rest? This is entirely new and alien experience)
Interestingly enough under Z-Team's post there is always that one account commenting: @r_robertson3
And this out-of-nowhere NPC is getting recognition from the heroes??? They are actually responding to his dumb comment and dry humor??? Who is this dude?
Throughout the fic fans learn that this supposed nobody could be mayhaps Z-Teams... dispatcher? They are not 100% sure, but what they are certan about is that this guy definately has something going on with the heroes. Or at least one of the heroes
Enter Flambae, who has recently started posting more and more post about his new boyfriend (a bit out of the blue), a boyfriend who, the mass suspects, could easily be this roberston3 guy, judging by the non-stop online banter these two have and the weirdly flirty interactions. Unfortunately though there is nothing officialy confirmed
In parallel to that, some of the MechaFans have started shipping their hero with members of the Z-Team. One of the more notable ship is between the powerless hero and the resident flaming homosexual. Of course there is A LOT of backlash to this ship, just as there is heat between the MechaFans and the Flambase
The main reason? Well,,, the majority of MechaFans are mechabae shippers and the majority of the Flambase are hard-core flambertson3 stans
There are, of course, the ones who think that shipping mechabae is disgusting, not only because Mecha Man is the reason Flambae was sent in prison and got mutilated, but also because they are actually coworkers now, and that on itself is not okay. (plus there is NO WAY the two even like each other. the tolerance on intervews is probably out of respect for the interviewers and for "upholding image" resons and not actual friendship. probably)
The point is that shipping is disgusting and not respectfull of the real people behind the masks (or in their cases, the mech and the costume- no matter how revealing it is)
And not to mention shipping two real people is not okay, but bringing that up is opening compleatly seperate can of worms
Anyways, at the end its revealed that Mecha Man and Flambae are actually in a relationship and have been for a long time. But before that happens A LOT of wars are declared and even more people canceled
