[WIP]

A few months back i had this idea for a fic based on what could happen post-canon Dispatch, that focuses on all characters' development after the game's canon end, as well as on the internet and "online" side of the Dispatch universe

Let me explain the "online" part

Imagine SDN hard-launching and hyping up Mecha Man's return on their official social media accounts and the internet EXPLODING

News, broadcasts, podcasts, comments, thurst traps from old clips and pics of the hero, tearful messiges, joyfull celebration, etc.

Everyone is exided and its soon that its revealed that not only one of the most famous heroes is returning from his self-proclaimed retirement, but also that he is placed with the newly reformed and fastly gaining recognition Z-Team? The criminals team?? SDN are putting one of the best heroes in a team of ex-cons!?!? WHY TF WOULD THEY EVEN DO THAT?!?!

Fans from all across the internet start digging "why" and throughout the process they get strongly attached and smitten with the Z-Team and their interesting dynamic. Particularly their online personalities and personas

Because even on the internet Z-Team are absolutely unhinged, so much so that its true miracle SDN has not yet put PR teams behind their accounts or outright taken down and cleared all offending posts (aka literaly almost everything)

Fans discovering and digging up old posts gets them trending and that makes people start liking them even more- some already forming fan bases around each hero (Prism, of course, already has a fan base- the Prismlings- and popularity from before her contract with SDN, but for the rest? This is entirely new and alien experience)

Interestingly enough, under most Z-Team's posts there is always that one seemingly bank account commenting (people literaly think its just a random bot at firs). Its user? @r_robertson3

And for all of their furstation, this out-of-nowhere NPC is getting recognition from the heroes??? This no pfp, emptly-ass account mf?? The team are actually responding to his dumb comments and dry humor??? Who is this dude?

Throughout the fic fans learn that this supposed nobody could be mayhaps Z-Teams... dispatcher? Ist not outright stated in any of the intervews and the Z-Team do not mention this account and the person behind it anywhere irl.

People have tried asking about it? No response. No one really is 100% sure on this claim, but what they are certan about is that this guy (and they assume it is a guy, given that no woman can ever say such bad puns) definately has something going on with the heroes. Or at least one of the heroes

Enter Flambae, who had in recent development started posting more and more about his new boyfriend (a bit out of the blue tbh), a boyfriend who, the mass suspects, could easily be this roberston3 guy, judging by the non-stop online banter these two have and the weirdly flirty interactions. Unfortunately though there is nothing officialy confirmed

In parallel to that, some of the MechaFans have started shipping their hero with members of the Z-Team. One of the more notable pairings is between their powerless hero and SDN's resident flaming homosexual.

Why? Well, some say its the red-blue phenomenon, others, that there is something charming about the enemies-to-lovers trope is real life. There are a lot of resons, if one aks, but the main is that they have a lot of potential

The idea is strongly supported by the habbit of SDN often pairing them together in different promotional materials and during official events

Its weird, it happened more than once and that is all people need to start flooding the z-team fan base with the new hashtag #mechabae

Of course there is A LOT of backlash to this ship (as ther eis to anything on the internet), just as there is as much heat between the MechaFans and the Flambase

The main reason? Well,,, the majority of MechaFans are mechabae shippers and the majority of the Flambase are hard-core flambertson3 stans

There are, of course, the ones who think that shipping mechabae is disgusting, not only because Mecha Man is the reason Flambae was sent to prison (not to mention got physically mutilated), but also because they are actually coworkers now, and that on itself is not okay.

(plus there is NO WAY the two even like each other. the tolerance on intervews and during red carpets is probably out of respect for the viewers and for "upholding image" resons, not actual friendship, let alone romantic feelings. yes. probably)

The point is that shipping them is wrong and disrespectful of the real people behind the masks (or in their cases, the mech and the costume- no matter how revealing it is)

And not to mention shipping two real people is not okay, but bringing that up is opening compleatly seperate can of worms, so we are not touching that topic for now
