Giving Lucius a knowing smile, Caine chuckles as he responds. âWell, letâs face it â your father isnât the most outside-the-box thinker in many aspects. So yes, he played into the beautiful clichĂŠ of screwing the nanny. Though really, I prefer the term many because that at least adds an ounce of masculinity to it.â After all, heâs only had one female host in his life, and that was centuries after the birth of Lucius.Â
With a roll of his eyes, Caine shakes his head at Lucius. âHe may be my master, but I can think for myself. He didnât need to say anything for me to acknowledge that the supposed antichrist was sucking at doing his job. So downfall is my adjective. I think your father includes a few expletives when he describes you, anyway; I chose to keep some class, as always.â His wry smile is difficult to decipher â his tone does not betray whatever is on his mind.Â
Stifling a yawn, Caine rolls his eyes again. âBored and boring are two different words, moron. I can be boring to you without being bored and under stimulated. I am currently not bored, but when I am, itâs an unpleasant situation for all who are within my reach. However I havenât had a boredom moment since coming to earth, so weâve all been lucky.â His tone is lackluster now, unamused by Luciusâ failed attempt to insult him.  Semantics, please. âNo, killing people isnât what gets me off,â Caine contradicts. âI prefer playing mind games with them and playing mind games with demons is a futile effort, as Iâm sure youâre aware.â
Bored with the topic, heâs grateful it moves onward to something else. âSheâs the heart of the party, just not always easy to spot her,â Caine murmurs, glancing around them. Morriganâs not in plain sight â likely getting dressed in the back rooms. Returning his gaze to Lucius, he offers a lazy smile and shrugs. âPlease donât, then it sounds as though Iâm doing you a favor. I enjoy making money and keeping patrons happy is a part of that. Iâll buy you your first drink tonight, the rest is on you.â Shifting himself, his lips purse before he chuckles. âI know who Iâll send you first⌠Mark Kingsford. Kidâs got a body and is already inked, so maybe this can turn into a business proposition for you too,â he informs Lucius. âHuman, dull as they get in terms of personality, as far as I can see. You know the type: sullen, some âdeep dark secretâ that pales in comparison to the real troubles of the world. He has no idea that we even exist, so have some fun with him,â Caine encourages with a chuckle.Â
An exasperated sigh slips past Caineâs lips. âPlease,â he says, âI know you decided you donât want to be the antichrist, but you arenât a true demon if you donât have any desire to mar the purity of an angel,â he simpers. âNothing is impossible, Lucius,â he continues. âLook around us, weâre surrounded by fallen angels. You just need to find their weakness and play into it â not that I had anything to do with Ryanâs falling, but his weakness was there and blasted him.â He pauses. âBesides, you are the son of Lucifer. For once in your life, have some faith in what you are instead of just who you are. Itâs fun to be bad once in awhile,â he taunts with a playful grin.Â
Offering him a wink, he adds: âI donât think Ryan, in his original state, would have been much for dancing in a strip club⌠but then he came to love it.âÂ
