no its not a cassette tape run on 1/16 speed though its tracks from several 33⅓ rpm LPs run at the 16⅔ rpm speed older record players had. also they weren’t put put by “some guy” it was the long time chipmunks band itself.

one of those was Chipmunk Punk which is where the artist designed the 16speed art from and much of the rest are from Born To Rock

effectively they’re played at half speed. if someone really did try to play them at 1/16 speed off a cassette (all these albums did get cassette release!) they’d be, well, 8 times as long as the Chipmunks At 16 Speed versions and so low pitched many computer speakers wouldn’t handle them right.

incidentally the guy behind the 16 speed project is Canadian singer-songwriter Brian Borcherdt who’s been in several bands over the years.
