Yeah sure! Apologies for the long wait!

They met during an interview, and notably, Brian was kind of cold to him right out of the gate. (Probably because he was slightly ill at the time and not feeling well.) But Derek got him to warm up a bit and that's really what got the ball rolling on their friendship.

Brian had Derek ghostwrite for A Cellarful of Noise, after looking other places and really not finding anyone quite right to do it. Once that was done, Derek enjoyed working with Brian so much that he accepted a job as Brian's personal assistant. Obviously, that didn't go quite well, as a journalist is not a personal assistant.

They did have one specific issue in a story I've heard a few times. They went to an event with the Beatles, and at the end, there were three limos waiting out for them. The Beatles was always first, Brian's second and Derek's third. Derek got into Brian's limo, and drove away. When Brian made it back to the hotel, he started screaming at Derek. It got so bad that Derek quit because of it. Brian stormed off and sobbed in his hotel room. Derek eventually went to go talk to him and they worked it out, although Derek did not come back to work, no matter how much Brian wanted him to. Which, Brian probably felt extremely guilty about.

Well, that would have been 1954-55. So he would've been 20-21. Any photos of him around that time would be when he was enrolled. I haven't come across any photos of him acting or on stage or anything, but I do have these, from about that time!

There haven't been many so it's not too complicated. When Brian was 18, there was Sonia Seligson (16) who he met because they were both involved with the theater. They ended up getting engaged, then Brian broke it off because, well duh, he's gay. Here's a photo of them on a date. :)

Then there was Vera Brown. I'm not quite sure what year this was, but I think this was early 60s. Do not quote me on that, I just know it was after Sonia. They weren't ever technically in a relationship, but they went on dates and things and made out. So there was that too.

I also know of another photo where Brian is on a date but I'm not really sure who she is or anything about their relationship so. Apologies for that. Here's the photo though. It looks like Brian is pretty young here so I'd put this before Sonia.
