Shit My Grandma Saved

It has somehow been 2.5 years since I posted anything from the House of Many things. However, the many things have been reduced into One Room of Many Things- because shortly after my last update my husband and I moved into the house! We put a lot of time in 2019 and 2020 renovating the living room, kitchen, and upstairs bedroom (what used to be the loft of the original barn before it was turned into a house) and making it livable after many years of mouse infestation and horded stuff. And we love our weird little house! But we didn't actually finish the big job of clearing out the Stuff before moving in...which means we shoved all that was left into the back room. Where we've barely managed to touch it since. The back room is an overwhelming mass of junk, weird and wonderful treasures, useful bits, useless parts, and materials for DIY projects yet to be thought of. I have the next 9 days off work, and though I have many other things to check off the to-do list during that time, I am determined to spend some time digging into the pile. It would be fantastic to have the backroom clear for my husband and I to have our art studio so we can stop cluttering up the living room and bedroom with our many projects. Plus I've got a HUGE terrarium I would like to set up back there for my ball pythons as there isn't space anywhere else in the house for it (they live in big enough enclosure currently but I'd love for them to have a more enriching environment). I will, of course, be capturing some pictures of the weird shit as I go and posting them. It will take a miracle to make even a minor dent in what remains, so it is unlikely to be the last time I have new content. Besides...there's still a large shed and room in one barn of her stuff after the house ;)
