Baignée dans les eaux au pied du Stromboli, elle rayonnait, l'angoisse disparue en fumée comme si l'équilibre n'était possible que sous l'évidence du danger. Elle était ainsi la preuve d'une loi que les hommes ignorent :

Une fois le danger déclaré, il n'y a plus de raisons de le craindre. Ce qui engendre la peur, c'est justement l'ignorance du risque.

Il fallait le voir en face, permanent, sans masque, ni oeillère, à la manière de ces hommes des volcans.

Bathed in the waters at the foot of Stromboli, she was radiant, anguish vanished into smoke, as if balance were only possible under the evidence of danger. She thus embodied the proof of a law that men ignore:

Once danger is declared, there is no longer any reason to fear it. What generates fear is precisely ignorance of the risk.

It must be faced head-on, permanent, without mask or blinders, like those men who live with volcanoes.
