Baignée dans les eaux au pied du Stromboli, elle rayonnait, l'angoisse disparue en fumée comme si l'équilibre n'était possible que sous l'évidence du danger. Elle était ainsi la preuve d'une loi que les hommes ignorent :

Une fois le danger déclaré, il n'y a plus de raisons de le craindre. Ce qui engendre la peur, c'est justement l'ignorance du risque.

Il fallait le voir en face, permanent, sans masque, ni oeillère, à la manière de ces hommes des volcans.
