That's not a way for me to diminish it, it is still a story. It might be well written, it might not, but neither Larian nor any of the original writers have had nothing to do with it. It's a published expounding based on someone's interpretation of the events like many DnD based story books are, that you can choose to implement into your interpretations or completely ignore.

The bottom line, is that WOtC bought BG3 with money. It is up to you if capital dictates who has true ownership over art - personally, to me, I would rather not do that.

And fun fact: even if the book had been written or at least outlined by Stephen Rooney or any other of the talented people at Larian, you could still choose to completely ditch it,

I have been thoroughly whelmed by the idea of this book since I first heard about it.

I'm not saying people shouldn't be happy or exited about it - if you are, that's great! enjoy! - just that I'm not.

If my library gets the audiobook read by Neil Newbon I may give it a listen, but I'm not going to rush to be first in line, and I'm not going to spend money on it.
