Not happy at all about the fact that The Folk of the Air is getting a movie adaptation. Especially since its fantasy and being made but amazon. NOT EVERY BOOK NEEDS A SCREEN ADAPTATION

so, the reasons I don't like it

they'll whitewash jude and the bomb

they'll make the roach look 'prettier' (lik no I like him as he is thank you)

they'll make Cardan like some sort of martyr and remove the scene where he tore off a faerie's wings

they'll remove most of the 'too violent' scenes such as Jude having her finger bitten off

they'll listen to the SJM fans (no hate to you guys, I also love her books) and make it romance-centered (like remember those posts where they said that there was not enough romance)

they'll ruin the plot

they'll make cardan obsessed with jude from the start

and jude obsessed with him from the start when in reality she acknowledged her feelings like at the third book i think

they'll change and remove most things to make cardan just a alcoholic idiot who is dependant on jude

Cardan's door may not even have a scene

they may make it so that the neglect and abuse was not as bad

they'll make the folk like some sort of 'gods', not the violent, impulsive, merciless creatures they are and the ones we love

I will add more to this

also, @masasinsanity created a petition if you want to sign it, it'll ask you for money or to share it for free

I’ve been dreading this day for years but I knew it was inevitable. I just hope it’s at least animated and not live action. High fantasy like this NEEDS to be animated to accurately capture the mix of horror and whimsy portrayed in the books.

I really hope it’s animated and turns out good. I’m tired of being done dirty by book adaptations.

And if that's not enough, they'll make it 100% romance and ruin the plot like that by listening to the sjm girlies

like the main reason I loved it is because the romance was a SUBPLOT and violence and politics was the main theme
