Biography under the cut
Solis is the eldest son of the Asterion family; an old, wealthy family with considerable political influence. Rumor has it that the family has an ancient history with the occult, something that the family works to move away from. Mysterious deaths, unexplained disappearances, seemingly decreasing after the 20th century. Amongst the family, this is discussed in hushed whispers, something Solis heard rumors of as a child, but never truly believed.
He is by no means the ideal eldest son and heir to the family estate. Solis is loud, unruly, and burdened with a temper. There is constant strife between him and his parents, especially as he grows older. It seems that each year they grow further and further apart. And then, as a young teenager, along with a growth spurt and a dropping voice, he finds himself able to move objects with his mind. It's something he tries to suppress, something his parents force him to suppress. He finds out that there are some members of the family that develop certain abilities. They're kept secret, forced to hide these special talents.
This suppression does not work, no matter the consequences Solis faces. Despite his efforts to contain it, his mind works on its own. He has a temper, and when he's angry, things tend to get damaged without him ever lifting a finger. At the age of 17, everything comes to a head. A mysterious figure in his bedroom brandishing a knife, a fire started by his own hands- Solis runs.
The death of his family hits him hard. Sol can never forgive himself for what he has done, and prepares to turn himself in when he hears what happens- until reports indicate that he was found dead in the blaze along with his family. Instead of turning himself in, Solis disappears.
A few years of being on his own, and a letter arrives. A distant aunt, one he had seen maybe once or twice as a child, has died. She was a family member with her own abilities, abilities she had practiced in secret. With the letter, comes a gift; the contents of her bank account, and the journals she had kept documenting her practice and her research into their family's history.
With this, he is able to learn not to suppress his abilities, but how to work with them. How to use them to his advantage and grow away from his family and his past.
