If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know I’ve been homeless since July of 2014. (I am temporarily staying with someone right now.) As you can imagine, this is extremely stressful, even on better days. I am chronically ill, disabled, and a survivor of extreme domestic abuse. I am proud of myself for remaining optimistic through this, and I have been trying my absolute best. Still, with all of my health issues (physical and mental,) I feel myself succumbing to depression the longer that I am in this situation. Through everything, my best friend, Kory, has been my rock. She is currently living in an environment that is not safe for her. She is a trans woman, and the head of her current household is not accepting towards her and is notorious for lecturing her about getting a manual labor job and “cutting off that hair and wiping off that makeup.” It is very important that for her mental health, she is no longer in that environment. Why am I making this post? Because there is a huge opportunity in front of us right now, and more than ever, we need your help. We have found a home listed for SALE at $2.000. Obviously it isn’t in the best condition, but we are certain that we can fix what needs to be fixed. Being two frugal individuals, we know how to bargain hunt and we know that we won’t have to spend an arm and a leg on fixing this home, and still keep it as beautiful as possible. That being said, this fund is to pay for the home itself as well as repairs and remodeling, plus GoFundMe and WePay’s 8%.
