i have never been a fan of “born this way” rhetoric for this very reason

gender and sexuality are fluid throughout life. we develop. our gender changes as we age. think about babies and old people. have you ever stopped liking a food you used to eat all the time, or now cant get enough of something you used to hate?

we are not born a certain way, we are in constant flux. we are the constant elaboration of matter. and just because you are not born a certain way does not mean that you have a choice.
