💋 to Trunks

‘I will go beyond the lengths of a super saiyan.’ The words his father uttered after their devastating defeat against the androids still rang in his mind. A way to surpass the level of a super saiyan..of course. Damn, why hasn’t he thought of that before. Trunks is just..beside himself now. It was such a simple thought but it’s also genius..why in the world did he ever though that a super saiyan should be the ‘be all end all’. “Gohan..sometimes I wonder if your faith in me wasn’t..missplaced.” He couldn’t afford to make these dumb mistakes..his carelessness is going to get everyone he loves killed in his timeline.

It appears the Tania..or Kore in this timeline had heard him. Heh, no matter the timeline she’s always around to give him a pep talk whenever he needed it..and right now? He definitely needed it.She told him to not sell himself so short, let him know that Vegeta had been practicaly groomed to fight and Goku had different masters who molded him into the martial arts genius that he is today. He on the other hand is going through all of this on his own, learning what he can through harsh experiences. And..in a way she’s right..it doesn’t make him feel better one hundred percent but it’s a start. “Thanks Kore..I suppose I needed to hear that. 

"Ya know you don't have to visit me all the time Trunks. You could be out doin' something more fun then hangin' out with this hag." She chuckles as she sets down her cigarette to tap it out before she turns from her desk to greet the young man with a lazy smile.

"So what's it this time? Got some new trinket ya wanna show me? Need a favor? Or did you just miss this pretty old face?"

He scrunches his nose, again she’s indulging in those things. He supposed adults need their vices, even his mother grabs a stick once in a while herself. So he couldn’t be too upset about it. “I’d be with Goten, but he’s busy with Gohan and Videl, heard they’re picking up Aunt Chichi so they could have a family lunch. So that leaves you..that and I have something to show you.”

The teen’s tail wags excitedly as he removes his hands from behind his back and shows her a sort of gauntlet. “You ever get a moment where you’re just too lazy to grab the remote because you left it far away?? Or how about the fact that your phone’s dying and you want to call a pizza..well ta-ta-da-daa you’ve got yourself the Omniglove. More or less a placeholder name until I think of something better. Goten was always great at naming things.”

He spoke as he puts on the robotic glove and began pushing a few buttons. And in no time her phone rings out a single tone as an artificial voice that sounds much like his sister Bulla spoke from the glove: Phone paired. “You’d need a little know-how with machinery to know that..and i’ve really hacked your phone months ago soit was easy to pair it. But now you can literally drop it on the other side of the world and with the push of a button-”

She smiled at Trunks, after placing down a homemade birthday noodles for him before stepping back to begin clapping. “祝你生日快乐 / 祝你生日快樂 (Zhù nǐ shēng rì kuài lè - Happy Birthday to You) 祝你生日快乐 / 祝你生日快樂 (Zhù nǐ shēng rì kuài lè - Happy Birthday to You) 祝你幸福， 祝你健康 (Zhù nǐ xìng fú, zhù nǐ jiàn kāng - Here’s to your happiness, Here’s to your good health) 祝你前途光明 (Zhù nǐ qián tú guāng míng - May your future be bright) 祝你生日快乐 / 祝你生日快樂 (Zhù nǐ shēng rì kuài lè - Happy Birthday to You) 祝你生日快乐 / 祝你生日快樂 (Zhù nǐ shēng rì kuài lè - Happy Birthday to You) 祝你幸福， 祝你健康 (Zhù nǐ xìng fú, zhù nǐ jiàn kāng - Here’s to your happiness, Here’s to your good health) !” When the song finished she took a step back before reaching for the side of the table and handing him a small gift. “Because I know you can never have enough of these, Happy Birthday Trunks.” Inside he would find one of those pocket knives that had everything someone who liked to tinker would need. Shifting after she handed it to him she took a step closer before leaning in to place a small peck on his cheek before stepping back.

Every birthday he’d happily listen to her singing, heck he’s gotten the entire jingle memorized ever since he was ten..now eight years after that..here she is again continuing tradition. There’s a soft smile on his face as she presents his bowl of noodles, the longevity noodles that she takes the time to make from the ground up. The gesture at first went over his head until he was mature enough to give it some thought.

So, Sinbad sighs under his breath. If it was time to come clean..then he will. He loves her and he owed her this much, but even now he’s quickly pondering about what secrets should walk into the light and which should remain in the darkness. Conquering dungeons and acquiring power, that’s something she’s always known he’s done in their youth, but now conquering nations? This was new territory. “Where do I start?? Darling you need to know that this wasn’t an easy decision to make..but a necessary one.”

Sinbad takes a step closer, only so she could look at hm in the eye. “The things that I need to do in order to keep this country from falling into mayhem, the beasts that lurk in the shadows…all things I need to eliminate if I want to enact the change I talk about. “Within this country there are three main families who govern the Japanese Underworld: The Seiryu clan, Susano’o alliance and The Orochi. Those are the three pinnacles who breathe destruction onto the streets. The violent crimes, turf wars, drug trafficking are the least that they’ve done.”

Sinbad continues on. “I’ve only now realized that of the three clans, the Seiryu tends to be honorable among them, while I am invincible to any of their personal attacks if they wish to enact some form of method to manipulate me..the same cannot be said about you. My darling you are wonderful, courageous, intelligent and by far the best of us all…but you are also Kind. Your heart is but the brightest I’ve ever come across in this world, the light that prevents me from going too far..I couldn’t let you be apart of it, the things I’ve had to do…they too would have destroyed you, and you are always exposed which would also make you a prime target. Pulling all of my resources to protect you and your shop would only show my hand to them, they would know that above alleles I would burn the world for you. It isn’t until I’ve-...” Then it clicks. The boy from the Seiryu clan.

Now, he couldn’t focus on that right now, ‘Tell her you’ve seen the boy’. A voice in the back of his mind echoes, it’s thoughts wicked but alas he ignores the voice and continues on. “I’ve seen that boy you’ve befriended rough around the edge but I’ve had him followed, learned about him. I figured with someone who values you as his own at your side then he would make the perfect (‘pawn’) person that I can rely on to keep you safe from harm. While I keep the wolves at bay. I apologize really for keeping this a secret from you but this was the only way I know to keep you safe.”
