Burning Brightest

“Yeah we should!” She agreed. “We make pretty good partners I think!” She went ahead and grabbed casual clothes and went inside once Weiss had finished up. She was quick to take her shower and clean up before coming back out in a nice long sleeve and jeans. “Alright! That feels a lot better. Wanna do something now or just chill and rest up? I know I could use a bite to eat after all that.”

Yang nodded at that, taking a look around and frowning. “Yeah, I noticed that too. Let’s head back then!” She turned back to her, her smile returning. She picked up all of her stuff and lead the way back to the dorms. Once they arrived back she tossed her bag onto her bunk. “Do you want first dibs on the shower?”

Yang was sure to be right behind her as she did the squats, ready to step in if necessary, but she was happy that Weiss completed her reps without issue. “Nice work!” She gave two thumbs up and smiled big when it was her turn. “Can do! Gotta change the weights first though.” She stepped to the side and added onto it until the bar was holding 250 pounds. “Phew alright.” She made sure to stretch out her legs a bit before getting into position. Weighted squats was the workout that Yang could lift the most in, and it made sense considering she was capable of grabbing and flipping a large sized grimm. She lifted and took it off the rack. “Alright, here we go.” She started her reps- doing 10 squats before setting it back, the same routine as Weiss. Though Yang chose to push herself to burn and really put herself to work and ended up doing 5 sets compared to Weiss’ 3. She was panting and grunting as she lifted back up from her last squat and racked the bar back into place. “Ha…ha…there we go.” She said, wiping herself down with a towel while rotating one of her shoulders over and over to reduce the soreness of it. “I’m not quite sure how much of a work out I can take haha. I think I’m getting close to wrapping up for the day, how about you?”

Yang followed her gaze and ended up spotting a free shoulder press machine that they could use. She smiled right back. “Yeah we can do that. I’ll let you have the first go this time.” She grabs her things and walks on over there, already helping to go ahead and start putting weights on until Weiss tells her to stop. “Working on quite a bit of upper body stuff lately huh? Working to change some stuff?” She asks out of curiosity since it normally isn’t something she thinks her teammate usually works on.

Yang nodded with a giggle, retrieving her bottle if water and taking a sip. “Yeah, we can take a longer break.” She then gave a tap with her hand on the tire she had moved. “Yeah this thing was a real effort.” Though she somewhat blushed at Weiss’ next statement. “Heh, thanks. It’s uh, it’s something I’m proud of.” Though there was something she picked up on about the way she said it. “But envious? I’m a bit surprised.”

It took a lot out of Yang as well, as she picked a tire size that was definitely testing her own strength and stamina pretty hard. Eventually she got to the end, giving a huff and a thumbs up to Weiss. “Ha…phew…how ya holdin’ up? Looks like you did great!” She said to give words of encouragement to her.

“Yeah we definitely should! And well I’ll be sure to keep that in mind then.” She then hummed in thought at what to do next for the workout as she started taking the shoes off to put back where they were on the rack. “Let’s try the tires since you suggested them earlier!” She said, taking the lead this time to head back to the main area and over to where a few different tires were set up of different sizes and weights.

 “Alright!” She went ahead and went to one of the much bigger ones and put her hands under it, grunting as she started to lift it up to it’s side.

Yang nodded as she watched Weiss before mimicking the pose she had done. She started doing slow dips, same as her teammate, before raising and extending her leg. She wobbled slightly, trying to get the balance before finding it. “Okay! Not so bad so far!” She said before lowering her leg back down. She was used to kicking things with her fighting style but she definitely wasn’t used to holding her leg extended for longer periods if time. She wasn’t quite used to the nature of balancing like that.
