Werewolf Specimen Chest

Its been over a year now since I had to stop creating my specimen chests because of material shortages but I am now hoping to try and bring them back starting with the “werewolf specimen chest”

Werewolf Curio Box I recently received a package from my friend Victor in Warwickshire. As he is a professor studying strange species, he would often send unusual specimens for me to help identify. Unfortunately however after viewing the condition of the box which the contents came in, I fear the worse may have befallen him. A small wooden chest covered in what appear to be claw marks disfiguring the design of a crescent moon, the contents of which confirmed my fears. A small jar containing cursed blood, a jar of fur and a tooth, all belonging to a werewolf. A single note came with the package. It simply read “Beware the full moon, lest you become the creature you fear”. ~The Burned Raven~

Mimic Ore Pets Reveal (Handmade)

I am so happy to finally be sharing my new creature discovery with you, took me along time but its finally here.

Through my research, I have found that what we are dealing with is a species of mimic known commonly as a "Mimic Ore" due to their appearance resembling a chunk of metal ore. They are an invasive species from the fae realm originally created by the dark Faeries for warfare,  they would infiltrated them into an enemies territories to cause confusion, and with their appetite for anything containing metal, cripple their armories in the ensuing chaos.

They could even be tamed to a degree as tales speak of dark faeries training these mimics to act as swords or shields that could morph depending on the situation. A formidable weapon to be sure, but with one fatal weakness, if exposed to magic, these mimics loose their ability to shape-shift and become incredibly agitated. To this day, it remains  as one of the only ways to reveal these mimics.

Once knowledge of this weakness was made widespread, precautions were made to identify and dispose of the mimics, which then lead to them being abandoned by the dark faeries, releasing them in the wilds as failed experiments, becoming the invasive species they are now know as.

A Second Chance

Despite their aggressive appearance and original purpose, I have found them to be very loyal when trained and will imprint on those it interacts with most frequently, becoming very friendly and docile. I believe they will make great pets for this reason. If I can continue to search for them, perhaps I can find people who will give theses creatures a  happy ending to their tragic tale.

Mimic Specimen Crate

After numerous failed attempts to capture one of these mimics hiding among the blacksmiths many tools, I figured there are just to many objects they can shape shift into, allowing them to hide almost definitely from me. Without a reliable way of determining what is and is not a mimic, I would find myself to be fighting a loosing battle.

I decided to trace back where the ore the blacksmith had been sourcing his materials from around the time of the disturbances, which eventual y lead me to an old mine shaft that had recently been reopened. With far less objects to disguise itself, I was at last successful in capturing one of these mimics. It seems this species of mimic can only turn into basic metal objects much to my surprise, perhaps a new species?.

It is currently to aggressive to study at the present, I shall leave it in the small wooden crate I made to capture it and mail it back to my workshop for further research, hopefully it will have calmed down by then.

It should arrive on Halloween, at which time we can then open the crate and get a good look at what we are dealing with.

What can I help you with today? Looking for something in particular or perhaps something new? It just so happens I have just finished bottling two new items. This one here, we have a jar of "Ice Dragon Blood" a rare item to be sure but... you seem like someone who knows just how useful being able to instantly freeze an object can be. Just, try not to accidentally spill any, especially if you are carrying it in your pocket... just saying.

Whats that? you want to know whats in the other jar... oh... well that one is for sale yes but... as long as you know the risks that come with haunted relics. This jar contains the fragments of an ancient "Mirror possessed by an evil spirit". I have made it safe of course, completely harmless... but one can never be to careful.

Faerie Sight stones

Raine has stayed vigilant since she moved in and has taken it upon herself to patrol the area around my workshop while she wait for adoption. With the amount of magical wards I have in place to keep most unwanted creatures at bay, a few do slip though from time to time.

On her last patrol she found some "Faerie Sight Stones" from both the fae and dark fae. It seems they have taken an interest in my activities again, oh well, it would not be the first time, now that the stones have been neutralized they can on the store for sale.

Even though they no longer broadcast what they see to their original owner, the fact there eyes still look like they are following me does still creep me out a little.
