Synopsis: you and your friend decide to cross the line into a toxic, heart aching situationship. During an argument she confesses and makes things worse than they’ve ever been.
Chat im depending on making this a series but also some things just need to be one and done…idk if this gets a lot of attention I’ll turn it into a series 😭🙏
Contains: angst. Cursing. Drug use (weed), short fic, toxic situationship. Heartbroken Manon. Arguing. A bit of violence. A reader that’s hella toxic but Manon is more toxic..🤫
You and Manon sat across each other, hand in hand. A blunt resting between her index and middle like it just belonged, the hot red tip lit the dim room. Smoke dragged across the roof.
You stared at her, laughter falling from your lips as a thought popped into your head.
“You look like—like th-those moms at the beginning of those movies.” You stammered, inching your hand away from hers. Her eyes were low and blood red as she stared at you with utmost confusion.
“Girl, what?” She laughed, her head tilting. “You know! The movies where the mom dies and the dad is left yearning for years and shit.”
She giggled, bringing the blunt to her lips, inhaling the blunt like a weed addicted vampire. Her eyes glued to yours.
“Mhm!” She hummed, urging you to come closer. You knew what she wanted without her having to say a word.
You inched closer and her hands found the side of your fac pulling you closer until she was satisfied. Her lips parted slightly, smoking drifting out, you inhaled it perfectly.
“We’ve done better.” She muttered, her voice soft as she handed you the blunt ignoring the burning in her cheeks and the slick bliss that filled her heart.
“We’ve been better.” You whispered to yourself. You were insanely mad at the curly haired woman but you tried to hide the fury that was unfortunately written on your face.
“Puff, puff.” She grinned, dragging out her words. Clearly unaware of what you just said.
“Chillax,” you joked, taking a drag.
“I remember when we first met.” She murmured.
“I remember how nervous I was. You were like the cutest person I had seen since I stepped foot in this country.” She confessed, the words began flowing out her mouth.
Her head rested on your lap and her hands toyed with your belt. You looked at her with disgust, you just couldn’t handle her right now—not with the anger that built up in your lungs like mucus.
“You feeling alright, Meret?” You asked swallowing the god awful taste of bitter hatred. You stared down at the curly haired woman, her doe eyes staring right back at you and they sparkled brighter than any star you had ever seen.
She stared at you like you carried the world on your back, yet it felt so performative.
“Pretty girl,” you murmured, caressing her cheek. “My pretty girl,” you tried, yet it didn’t feel right.
Her eyes shined brightly, cheeks buzzing with a light shade of red. “Huh?” She sat up slightly.
“Was that wrong to say?” You asked, your voice softening.
“You never say anything wrong.” She mumbled, her eyes glancing around the decorated living room that was completely you.
You took another long drag before putting out the blunt inside the ashtray Manon made for you during a pottery class. The ashtray plus the class—one she took for the purpose of gifting you this ashtray—costed her so much money.
The ashtray was perfect though. A pinkish purple hibiscus flower, something that made you feel full besides smoking.
You’d strap a parachute around it and throw it out the window in case of a fire and let yourself burn. Would she do the same for anything you had ever given her?
“You cool?” You asked to which she nodded, sitting up and wrapping her arms around your neck.
“Let’s go out on the balcony.” You said, sick of the weed filled apartment and the closeness of the non sober girl.
You sat up from your brown leather couch, embracing her hand as you helped her up and led her to the balcony.
The stars were every color of the rainbow: red, blue and purple.
She leaned over on you, her eyes watching your lips while your eyes watched the moon lit sky. She was so intoxicated by your presence—to her it was better than drugs.
Yet, you couldn’t find it in you to feel the same—Manon was an notorious liar, she lied to you about stupid shit that you always told her to just be honest about, and she just couldn’t.
She lied about not seeing anyone else when in fact she was seeing twenty other people, mostly men. You always said you didn’t care if she talked to anyone else but twenty different people, how could you even compete with twenty people?
You couldn’t fucking stand how much she lied, you fucking hated it.
How she claimed she liked you so much when she was seeing other people, lots of people.
“I know you’re still mad.” She muttered, her voice drained of any hint of happiness.
You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. “Look, I stopped talking to all of them, they mean—“
“Meret, I don’t give a fuck! Do you hear me? A single fuck about those bitch ass boys you were entertaining while in my fucking bed,” you scolded, jabbing your finger in her side, her body flinched away.
Anger spat from your lips, your veins piercing through your skin. “I care about how you lie to me about so much stupid shit. Like, you choose to hide your phone instead of just being straight up.”
She hung her head, listening as you scolded her for the seventh time since the incident happened. You explained time over again that you didn’t care about who she entertained, yet she knew the truth.
“You know? It’s like how? How? How can you fuck that many people?“
“Then come to my house and say that you want to turn this into something serious.”
“So-so me talking to a few people because you won’t take me seriously is the reason you won’t take me serious? What the fuck.”
You sighed, inching away. “I don’t want to get serious with you because you’re a fucking known liar and slut, Meret.”
She scoffed, rubbing her eyes. “We’ve been arguing about this bullshit since last night—when you went through my phone—which, by the way, has your birthday as the password and your face as the lock screen.”
“So you want me to oo and ah at the bare minimum?”
“My face is the lock screen of your phone, I can watch you get fucked by boys with tiny dicks, yip yip hoo fucking ray!” You said with sarcasm dripping from your tongue.
Her face twisted and twitched with disgust and disbelief. The bliss she had just felt was overshadowed by reality that you were a pain in her ass.
“You’re a jealous bastard.”
“Watch your fucking mouth, girl.” You warned, jabbing your hand into her chest.
When you were a bitch, when you put your hands on her, slapping her, pushing her, she took it because she knew you didn’t know how to express yourself without violence.
“God, just say that you’re jealous!” You scoffed, rolling your eyes. “Two words, two! You send me paragraphs with two thousand words, I know you can say two words.”
“I am everything but jealous, Meret.” Her first name always rolled off your tongue with anger, pure hatred at times.
“God, you’re so.” She murmured, her face falling into the palms of her hands, a loud sigh exiting her mouth.
“I only lie because you make me feel like I have to.” She says.
“Yeah, blame your mistakes on me, perfect.”
“Why don’t you want to be with me? Besides the lying, why? Because I know it’s not just the lying.”
You bit your lip, glancing at your shaky hands. You were tired, too tired to keep yelling and screaming.
“I don’t know anymore, Meret. I just don’t want you to lie to me anymore.” Your voice cracked embarrassing as you spoke, like you were a teenaged boy.
Manon stood in silence, leaning against the railing. Listening as the city spoke for the two of you. The city hummed with sadness and pain. The air began tasting like endings.
She turned to you, her eyes were filled with a mixture of desire and fear. “I love you.” It came out quieter than she had wanted, so quiet the wind almost swallowed it but you heard.
You didn’t flinch. You just stared past her, like the words were dropping straight through the cracks of the concrete below.
She repeated it like a prayer, loud and firm.
“I love you.”
“I love you.”
“I love you.”
“I love you.”
“I love you.”
You snapped out from your daze, the words flew from her mouth so rapidly and heavy, it felt like she was punching you with them.
“I hate you.” You murmured.
“I love you.” She murmured back.
You shook your head, your anger spattered out, spilling between you two. “You’re a fucking liar, Meret. Why would I ever believe that bullshit?” You shouted, raising your arms.
“You put me through hell! You put me through fucking mental hell. You ask why I don’t want to be with you and it’s because you act like a fucking little kid.”
“So, no. Fuck that I love you shit. Because I hate you and you hate me just as fucking much.”
“Because I lie? I lie to you a few times and now I treat you like you mean nothing?” She scoffed, stepping back. Her eyebrows furrowed deeply in confusion.

~ Ot6!Katseye x GN!GuardDog!Reader ૮ ˶• ﻌ •˶ ა (all platonic)
~ hehe this was so fun to write so lmk if you like it!! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ ) also woah puppy reader in a different font
Guard Dog!Reader who takes their job very seriously the moment they’re introduced to the Katseye girls.
“Girls, this is your personal bodyguard. They’ll be working on-site as well as accompanying you to concerts, fan meetings, and things of that nature.”
You stood tall with your chin tilted slightly up, shoulders squared, and perfect posture. You avoided eye contact, only moving to nod when their safety manager mentioned where you’d be helping out.
“Because of certain circumstances,” Their manager peers over her clipboard to look at Manon and Megan, “we’ve decided you girls need a little extra protection if a location is accidentally leaked or if a fan decides to get handsy.”
You focused on the twitch of your ears and the sway of your tail, keenly aware of how they moved without your permission. On the outside you could’ve looked like the most professional bodyguard in the world, but on the inside, you were nervous. This would be your first serious job since your training ended a few months ago.
One of the girls raises her hand from her spot around the table.
“Yes, Sophia?”
“You said on-site? They’ll be living with us?”
“Precisely. Their off-days are weekends, so we ask on those days, if you plan on leaving you tell them where you’re going so someone else is able to cover your transportation and safety.”
Their manager licks her thumb, flipping to another page.
“How about you introduce yourself, then you girls can start rehearsals.”
You nod at their manager before turning to face the girls.
“Good morning, my name is Y/n. It’s nice to meet you. I’ll be sure to do my best to keep all of you safe.”
“Right. Come with me, I’ll have someone take you to the dorms so you can get situated.”
Nodding once, you follow behind their manager into the hallway.
Guard Dog!Reader who prefers working from the shadows, trying their best to make sure their work stays discreet.
At first, the girls almost forgot you lived with them. The only time they’d see you is if one of them woke up at an ungodly hour, watching as you shuffled out the door for an early-morning run.
Other than that, you were typically in your room. Doing what — that’s what the girls didn’t know. Of course they knew you weren’t just a bodyguard. It’s likely you also took some of the responsibilities as a safety manager, checking venues and evacuation routes and all the details the girls didn’t really feel like remembering.
Even when the girls went to in-person fan events, it took them a few events to realize you were there too. Out of sight, watching and lurking.
At one point, they even made it a game:
“Who can spot Y/N the most.”
Sophia came first, finding your position twice. Yoonchae and Manon were tied with one point each. While Daniela, Lara, and Megan were never able to find you once.
That is, of course, until you decide to start showing your face in the light.
Guard Dog!Reader who starts getting to know the girls as they realize their bodyguard wasn’t as scary as they thought.
Now the girls were on tour and you were on the bus with them. All the time.
You sat in the back seat, always watching and observing. Never letting up for a second. At first the girls thought it was a little unnerving. From never seeing the person behind their safety to seeing them everyday.
But slowly, they started to warm up to you.
Sophia was first to start really talking to you. She’d sit at the back seat with you, asking questions about your job and what things you did to keep the girls safe. At first you were reluctant, still wanting to keep your work in the dark, but you figured it was important to not keep secrets regarding safety.
But your conversations started to grow from more than your job and hers.
You were a good listener, Sophia found out. Maybe it was the fluffy ears she wanted so desperately to pet helping you listen, or maybe it was just in your nature.
Even if it was a musical she’d been obsessed with or a part of her performance she was scared about, you listened. Every concern, every thought, every odd string of consciousness she had that day.
Then it was Yoonchae. When the girls got a little too loud for her, she sat next to you in silence. Of course she could sometimes still hear her bandmates despite her headphones, but the quiet next to you helped.
One night, when Yoonchae was nodding off to sleep, she could faintly remember you shushing the other girls and moving her head to lean on your shoulder. It was out of the ordinary for you to ask something of the girls — even if it was just silence. But Yoonchae very much appreciated it.
Even if she was much too shy to admit it, Yoonchae found herself wanting to sit next to you every night just to lean against your body and sleep. You were strong — you didn’t move too much when the road was bumpy or if a pothole was accidentally hit.
One night, under the influence of sleep, Yoonchae accidentally mistook your arm for a stuffed animal. It wasn’t her fault, you looked exactly like the stuffed dog toy she had as a kid. The rest of the night, Yoonchae held onto your arm. You didn’t really mind it, but Yoonchae made sure to apologize for overstepping boundaries. You shrugged in response, telling her she’s always welcome to taking a nap on you.
And despite her wanting to be polite, it kept happening. Not just on the bus, but in hotels, behind stage, and even on an airplane. Yoonchae swore she didn’t have narcolepsy. You were just the best pillow available.
Next to fall was Lara. It started with you helping her bring her luggage to her room. You were silent in your help. Lara was used to filling silence, but with you, it felt different. Maybe it’s because she was exhausted, or maybe there was just something about you that didn’t demand conversation.
Lara wanted to pinpoint what she liked about you.
From that day onwards, she’d sneak subtle glances in your direction, watching how you interacted with the world. With the other girls, with fans, with your job — with anything she could imagine.
She wanted to know more about you.
What Lara doesn’t anticipate is when she learns.
Currently, she was pacing around, away from the other girls, and on the verge of tears. The reason wasn’t anything too serious. Lara thought it was just the exhaustion and stress from touring around the country getting to her.
They were up in ten minutes and Lara couldn’t stop her voice from shaking and her nerves from going haywire.
When you find Lara, her chest is heaving like she already performed twice over, with her head tucked into her hands. You stand there for a second, wondering if you should say anything. When she doesn’t notice your presence, you clear your throat.
Lara looks at you like a deer caught in headlights. She moves her hands from her face to her arms, holding herself under your gaze.
Wordlessly, you open your arms in a silent question.
Almost immediately, Lara finds herself in your arms. Head tucked under your chin and your hand stroking her back. You start to take deeper breaths, hoping Lara would copy you and steady her own breathing.
Steady. That’s what Lara liked about you.
You were stable.
Closing her eyes, Lara focuses on your heartbeat in her ears and taking deep breaths.
After a few minutes, Lara’s own heartbeat starts to slow, calming her down even more. When Lara pulls away, she doesn’t need to hear you speak when you ask her another question with your expression: are you okay?
Lara nods once, mumbling the answer. “I’m okay, thank you.”
You stand there for a minute or two, watching Lara start to regulate her emotions.
“Can I ask you a question?” You hear her ask, sounding a little more confident.
You nodded.
“Can I pet you for good luck?”
Lara mostly said it as a joke. To lighten up the moment and make herself laugh when you inevitably said no.
To her surprise, you don’t hesitate when lowering your head. Lara contemplates apologizing and saying it’s a joke, but she couldn’t let your obedience go to waste.
She runs a hand through your hair, stopping at the base of one ear and scratching behind it. Lara chooses to ignore how your tail swayed in response.
Somewhere from behind the stage, Lara hears her name being called and the roar of the crowd. She had to meet up with the girls soon. They were looking for her.
“Have a good performance.”
Lara is reluctant to leave your side, but with your reassurance, she finds the courage to keep going.
“Thank you, Y/N.”
Megan came soon after Lara. Uncoincidentally, it was also when the girls first heard you laugh.
The bus was quiet except for Megan and Manon’s conversation. Yoonchae was asleep against the window, Daniela was reading a book, Sophia was listening to music, Lara was taking pictures, and you were sat with one wired earbud in while you watched the girls and stared out the window.
Megan didn’t know what she said to elicit the laugh escaping your lips. Actually, it was more of a chuckle. Short and quiet, just like your personality. But god, Megan thought it was the cutest sound ever.
In that moment, Megan vowed she would be the one to make it happen again.
So she kept trying. God knows how many times she’s tried. And it wasn’t that you weren’t amused — you definitely were. You still cracked a smile when Megan said something funny or did something silly. The only thing missing was your laugh.
Megan knew she should’ve just let it go. Not to force it and let it happen naturally. But Megan really wanted to see you laugh, knowing that she was the one who was able to get Katseye’s serious puppy bodyguard to laugh.
The second time you laughed at something Megan did, it sounded like the ringing bells of heaven. Or she was just being dramatic.
You sat on the bed of your hotel room while the girls were sprawled between the second bed and the various seats around the hotel room. You didn’t invite them. First it was Sophia who wanted to visit, then Lara, and after that the rest of the girls happily let themselves in.
You were busy doing the boring — but still important — part of your job. When you weren’t out with the girls looking scary and keeping them safe, you answered E-mails and reports from the company to make sure you had everything planned out safety-wise.
Between the six girls, at least seven conversations were being held. You didn’t know how. It just was.
Amongst those conversations, Megan was ranting to Sophia about her many failed attempts to get you to laugh. It was silly, it was stupid, but Megan was determined. And when she finished her rant with a huff, dramatically falling back into her pillow with her hands covering her eyes, that’s when she heard it.
A laugh so quiet and short it could’ve been mistaken for an exhale, but a laugh nonetheless.
Megan uncovered her faced, watching you continue to work. The other girls didn’t seem to notice your laugh, which, oddly enough, made Megan even happier.
It was like a little unspoken secret only you and her knew about.
You started to learn Daniela’s tells after your experience with the other girls. Her anxious tells in particular.
How she stood with her weight on one leg, or how she’d spin her rings, or even how you could hear her practicing through the walls of the hotel.
One night was particularly worse than the others. You could hear the music through the walls, but you could also hear her curse every time she messed up. Then you’d hear the music restart. Rinse and repeat a few times until you figured this probably wasn’t the best for her health. Both mental and physical.
Walking next door to her room, you knocked once before you heard her scrambling to open it.
You first noticed how out of breath she was.
“Oh shit- hey Y/N. It’s late, do you- do you need anything?”
“I can hear you practicing, Daniela.”
“Fuck, sorry, I’ll use headphones. Did I wake you up?”
“No. You should get some sleep.”
“Right- yeah, of course. Big day tomorrow. I’ll be in bed soon.” Daniela tries to slowly close the door, but your hand stops her.
“I’ll tuck you in.”
“You- what?”
Daniela’s confusion loosens her grip on the door as you make your way inside her room.
“Have you brushed your teeth?”
She nods.
“Then I’ll tuck you in. You need to sleep.”
Under your gaze, Daniela doesn’t argue.
Daniela shuffles into bed, and before she can pull the covers over her body, you do it first.
“Do you want me to tell you a bedtime story?”
“Are you-” Daniela glances at your face before finishing her sentence, “you’re being serious, aren’t you.”
“It helps.”
“…Sure, tell me a bedtime story.”
Nodding, you move to turn off the lights and pull up a chair next to the bed. Sitting down, you clear your throat.
“On a cold winter morning, Bella the sheep awoke from her slumber.” Your voice was on the monotone side. You were quiet, in a comforting way. It helped Daniela feel sleepier.
As you droned on with your bedtime story, Daniela’s eyelids grew heavier and heavier until she was forced to keep them shut. Even when you knew she was asleep, you kept going with your story until it ended.
And sure enough, Daniela learned she couldn’t sleep without your bedtime stories. Every night at ten pm, you would come into Daniela’s room to tell her a bedtime story. Eventually it turned into you two sharing a room so you didn’t have to keep moving around at night.
Nobody got to listen to your voice as much as Daniela on the nights she couldn’t sleep. She didn’t want to admit it, but most nights she was already planning to sleep. She just wanted to hear your voice.
Manon was the last member to fully warm up to you. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, your personalities were just so different. There weren’t many middle-grounds you two could bond over. Except one: Katseye’s fans.
Despite your job description only including keeping the girls safe, you thought it was important to keep their fans safe as well.
After all, the girls loved their fans. And who were you to deny that.
Unfortunately for you, Manon was a runner when it came to Katseye’s fans. Which was good for them, but terrible for you. In fact, before you even met Katseye, you were debriefed on their habits when they were around the fans. Their management told you to specifically look out for Sophia, Daniela, and Manon. You remember they put a large emphasis on Manon.
It was only after you experienced her deviance first-hand when you realized how much trouble she was. But you couldn’t lie, you respected the dedication. You found it sweet how much she cared. But god, it was a nightmare trying to chase her down.
A video of Manon dipping under your arm to run back and hug the fans started to circulate around the internet, which, she proudly showed you the comments congratulating her multiple escapes.
And when she’d giggle at your annoyed expression, you couldn’t stay mad for long. Not that you ever were mad, anger was just a tried-and-true way of conveying seriousness.
Again, unfortunately for you, Manon could see right through your bullshit. She knew you were never truly angry when she dodged and weaved to get to their fans. In fact, you were even more lenient with Manon.
When she escaped from your sight, you let Manon greet her fans until she decided it was her time to leave. Which usually took an extra ten minutes, until the other staff were pushing both of you to leave.
Manon didn’t take your kindness for granted. She appreciated how you stood and waited behind her like a shadow, always so patient with her. As a gift, she always made sure to get you a little something from every city they stopped by.
Your dynamic with Manon slowly shifted from bodyguard and celebrity to partners in crime.
It started when you would take Manon away from the staff, claiming you, “knew a better way to get to the bus.” You weren’t lying per se, you just didn’t mention how the “better way” meant towards the crowd of screaming fans.
Manon didn’t understand it at first — why you were doing this just for her — but you kept finding new excuses while the fans started to notice how it was always you next to Manon when greeting fans. The reason you had didn’t seem to matter as much as your actions.
Manon thought that phrase encapsulated who you were as a person pretty well.
Guard Dog!Reader who expects everything to go back to normal after tour and Katseye’s break. Sitting in their quiet room, returning behind the scenes while the girls prepared for their new music.
You couldn’t have been more wrong.
After her winter break and rehearsals, Sophia frequented your room the most. This time it wasn’t just her talking, but you as well.
You didn’t consider yourself someone who typically liked talking. That was before you met Sophia. You didn’t want to admit it, but when she flashed her signature smile that made her eyes squint with joy, you were enamored. You soon realized her charisma was something even you couldn’t deny.
Yoonchae followed soon, coming into your room without a spoken word. That’s how you two liked it. Sometimes she would play with the fur on your tail or lay around scrolling on her phone as you answered E-mails.
Lara first came to you after tour when she wanted to feel your soft ears again. It was silly, but she couldn’t stop herself from missing the feeling. If anyone else were to walk into your room while she was petting you, they would wonder if something else was going on between you two.
It reminded you of when you were just a puppy and your mother did the same thing to help you sleep. To Lara, it helped her de-stress.
On your weekends off, Megan invited you to go everywhere with her. Not as her bodyguard, but as a friend. Mostly for her selfish reason of wanting to be the only one hear you laugh — or at least be the one to hear you laugh the most.
Her favorite places to go with you were arcades. Megan would teach you how to shoot a video-game gun, while you scored the most tickets at basketball and Skee-ball.
Daniela found herself in your room late at night when she couldn’t sleep. She didn’t ask you to tell her another bedtime story, she just wanted to be in your presence.
So that’s what you did. You’ve spent countless mornings woken up to Daniela pressed against your side, while you awoke in the same position you slept in.
You and Manon still didn’t have much to bond over, but she still included you the most in group activities. Manon showed her appreciation in a different way.
Group movie nights, lives, and sometimes even in filming. At one point, fans even dubbed you as “Katseye’s honorary member.”
Which is how you found yourself where you currently were. Sat on your bed with all six girls in your not-so quiet room.
Yoonchae sat on your left, her head on your shoulder and your arm in her lap as she played with the rings on your fingers in her half-asleep state.
Sophia on your right, your shoulders bumped together as she planned the next theater production she wanted to see with you.
Megan’s head was sat on your lap as she lay between your legs, taking a nap. Her arms circled your torso, essentially turning you into a giant stuffed animal.
Lara, Manon, and Daniela were getting ready to go out, and were asking for your opinions on everything they wore. You always responded with a wordless nod, but the girls liked to include you in anything they did.
A few months ago, you never expected to find yourself as Katseye’s certified bodyguard turned-puppy.

Words: 3.6k
Love was never something you considered as important in your life. Well, sure, you grew up hearing about it and about how wonderful it was but.. in your mind.. it was not something you wanted for yourself.
Not that there was anything wrong with wanting to experience it, but the feeling of being.. so intimate with someone.. never did appeal to you really.
Perhaps that was why, the world had decided to set you up. Like a bitch.
The morning of your 23rd birthday, you awoke in a bedroom. Now, that wouldn't have been all that bad, if it weren't for the fact that.. that was not your bedroom. At all.
The walls were different, the desk was different, the floor was different, even the bed felt somewhat softer. What had happened? You remember you had fallen asleep in your bed.. so why were you suddenly here? Somewhere you didn't know the name of?
You looked to your right, glancing at the clock set on the drawer. 6 AM, uh, pretty early considering that you hated mornings. Before you could stop yourself, your eyes went to the window where the sun was shining through the barely visible curtains.
Whoever lived here really loved messiness I guess.
Gently, you got off the bed, feet landing on the floor. You had still clothes on, so that meant that you didn't drink nor had gotten high. Good. At least that was out of debate.
The smell inside the bedroom was sort of alluring, to say the least. You couldn't quite pinpoint what perfume this person who lived here used. But it was sweet, really sweet. Perhaps most would find it annoying, but you didn't mind.
Preferences I guess.
"Do I at least have my phone on me.." you sighed to yourself, looking around the room, like a lost puppy, even going as far as checking under the bed, which by the way, needed a good wipe.
Nothing, you couldn't find it. God damn it.
Just as you were about to throw a fit, and leave the room in anger, you heard the door open.
Okay so.. this is crazy but well.. the fact that you weren't much bothered nor scared about waking up in a stranger's bedroom.. may have been concerning. But.. well.. you were a very chill girl, for sure.. sooo.. could you really fault yourself for not overreacting? Or.. reacting at all.
Simply put, you didn't feel in danger, at least, enough to run away screaming in panic.
Anyway, as the door slowly opened behind you, you didn't have time to react as you heard a gasp.
.. what?
"Oh my God- who are you!" a high pitched voice yelled out in fear, before she grabbed the nearest chair she could find, the desk one, and got ready to hit you with it.
You.. of course.. turned around to look at her, and when you did, your eyes widened. This person.. somehow, felt familiar. You couldn't quite pinpoint where you had seen her but her face was very familiar.
Judging by how she sounded.. she was not the one to bring you here.. so.. yeah..
"Wait wait, calm down please-" you tried to say, holding up your hands in defense, which of course, was not enough to calm her down.
"Calm down?! There is a random girl in my room!" she continued to shout, holding the chair closer to her chest.
Okay.. you were gonna die uh. This was it.
You took a deep breath in and walked closer to her, hands still in the air "Listen to me- I am not here to hurt you- I just woke up here!".
Her eyes squinted slightly, and you could just picture a small bar on top of her head loading the info into her brain. Looking at her like this, she was even cute. Well, cuter than most girls you met in real life.. let's be honest.. you weren't that sociable.
"How the fuck does one just wake up randomly in another person's bedroom?".
You almost wanted to sulk into the ground.
"That's what I am saying! I don't know- all I remember is going to sleep in my own bed and then boom, I woke up here-".
You tried.. tried to explain but well.. how could you when you didn't know yourself? At least she had lowered the chair in the meantime, sensing you were not someone to be afraid of.
"How can I really trust you about that?" she asked, raising an eyebrow of interest, and to be fair.. she was right.
You too would be dubtious about yourself.. if you had been in the same situation as her.
But that didn't change the fact that you were not lying.
"Listen.. did you sleep in the same bed as I woke up in? Well, if that is so then tell me how I could have sneaked in without making you notice when you had everything locked and then wait for you to wake up and then get into your bed to sleep? All while not alerting you of anything?" you explained to her, using your hands as a way to communicate with her.
If she didn't understand words then you would give her some hand signs.. surely she was smart enough to understand those.
And of course, she did. She may have taken a few seconds to register what you had said, but when she did, she let out a long hum. Seemingly a hum of approval.
And then..
"So.. is this some sort of like soulmate kind of thing? Because like.. I am so in".
---
Megan.. the girl you had such a pleasure meeting.. was much more interesting than you had originally thought.
She looked harmless, sort of also scary at times.. especially with her dark hair that she swore was her real color. But when she would smile.. well, her whole demeanour would change.
She really did look like a puppy, a golden retreiver at most. Especially with those small dimples that complimented her so well.
To be fair, you were expecting way worse on first impact. Someone irrational, someone who did first and then thought. But.. well.. while that was sort of true.. she was also rather emotional.
You had learned quite a lot that day about her. Stuff that perhaps was too personal to say to someone while first meeting them. But perhaps that was the charm in her. She was so easy going that you didn't care if she spilled everything about herself. You would've kept it to yourself either way.
And that was what you had promised to her as well.
The walk back home was quiter than you'd like to admit. The streets felt somehow hollower.. slower.. even more deserted than what you had anticipated.
It almost felt like there was this small string following your every step. Maybe you were starting to become paranoid, but who wouldn't. Especially after what had happened.
The last thing Megan had asked you before you left, was for your phone number. At first, you didn't understand why. I mean, not many were interested in you. But perhaps she was just curious.. and wanted to simply get to know you better.
So.. you gave it to her, after a lot of pestering on her behalf.
The smile she gave you the second she dialed your number, well.. let's just say, it made you almost sigh in cuteness. She really was adorable uh.
Still, you kept weary for the next few days. There was no logical explanation for this, not that there would even be a reason for one to exist in the first place.. people don't just.. disappear from their bed to wake up in another.
You decided to shrug the feeling off of your shoulders, opting to focus your attention on more important things like.. work and whatnot.
At first, that was enough for you. Deadlines were catching your ass and your boss seemed angrier by the day, but really, what could you do except accept it? It was not like.. you could go against him.. and.. you know.. throw him out of the window like he deserved.
And like that, here you were.. in the middle of yet another working day. It was around 5 PM and usually that would be the hour you'd clock out.. but you couldn't just yet.
You had another project you had to finish by that day, of course, because otherwise the client.. lovely client that you had been assigned to.. would get mad and by default, refuse to pay the company for the service.
Money was tight already as it was. You couldn't lose yet another client because of something called rest. Fuck rest, right now, money was more important.
As the seconds ticked by, you couldn't help the sigh that left your lips. Something was troubling you, and no.. it was not work..
In the last 2 days, you had started to get these weird dreams.. weird to the point of waking up sweating like a man running a marathon. What was even crazier was that no matter how much you tried.. you couldn't remember them.
It was like.. the second you awoke, all those memories.. poof! Disappeared.
And you'd be damned..
You wouldn't even be able to go back to sleep, because by that point, it was almost time to start the day.. so.. yeah.. things weren't going all that great.
"Shit" you mumbled to yourself, placing your head on top of your hands, that were resting on the desk. Everyone had basically left already. The only people left were you and most likely.. the janitor, who always took pity on you.
She was so sweet.. almost like a second mother.
Whatever, no time to get lost in those things.. you had work to finish, and you were gonna finish it whether you were dying or about to pass out.
So you pushed through, you held back up your head and your fingers found your keyboard in mere seconds, typing away all the informations the client needed.
About 20 minutes later, you felt it again.. the headache. Only.. this time.. it was getting stronger.
Your eyes blinked, trying to regain the last conscience part of your brain, but you were feeling bad. The world felt like it was spinning, and your vision was starting to get blurry.
That was.. until.. you saw it.
A silhouette, walking closer to you.. holding out a hand. Somehow, even if everything was white around you and you could only imagine who this person was.. you weren't scared.. didn't feel scared.
No.. it was.. almost comforting.
You held up your hand, almost ready to grab it, but you weren't fast enough.. and like that.. the silhouette disappeared in an instant.
Cold.. now you felt cold.. like you had been thrown ice water on in the middle of winter.
It wasn't a pretty feeling at all.. you hated it.. it almost reminded you of your past.. of those judging eyes..
"Not yet.." you heard a voice call out to you. Wait.. was it a voice.. or multiple? Was that voice masking the real voice that was talking or was it.. just multiple voices combined together?
What did all of this mean? Why were you being tortured so? Was the Universe laughing at your disgrace? Was the Universe mocking you? Like all those kids back in the day?
No.. no.. couldn't be..
No.. you wouldn't allow that to happen.. again..
---
"Y/N.."
"Y/N"
"Y/N!"
Your eyes shot open, and before you could stop yourself, you sat up.
"Fuck!" you yelled out, as you felt pain shoot right straight to your head. How was this possible.. why was your head hurting so much? What had happened?
"Oh thank God you are okay- DO NOT MOVE!" a voice called out to you, holding your hands against the soft material that was placed under you.
Hey.. wait a minute.. you recognized this material.. and this voice..
Oh shit..
"Megan? Wha- what are you doing here?" you asked, looking up at her, meeting her worried big eyes, which were staring right back at you.
You could almost see the fear behind them.. had you really scared her that much?
Wait..
"I should ask you the that.. considering you are back here" she mumbled, checking on your head, trying to see if you had gotten somewhat hurt or something.
You blinked, looking down at your hands, and the bed.. the same bed you had laid on around a week ago. You were back here.. just like that.
How was that possible.. you were just literally at work.. how did you get back here once more?
"Megan" you started, eyes not leaving your hands "What time is it?".
Your tone was very firm, but also very tired, like you were done with this push and pull game that the Earth and Universe were playing with you. It was not funny.. it was not nice.. it felt like a bitch. Like you were their bitch.
Megan stopped examinating your head, looking down at you confused. She even did the thing.. tilting her head to the side and giving you a small pout.
"It is 6 AM" she replied, almost like she was used to saying it.. just exactly how many people woke up in her room in the middle of the morning? You know what.. you didn't even want to know really.
"6 AM" you repeated, nodding your head. Okay.. same hour.. same place..
Well shit.. if this wasn't a coincidence.
"You okay? Do you need anything?" Megan asked, pulling back from you and looking at your eyes. You hadn't noticed but the way her hair looked right now.. most likely meant that she had been asleep not long ago..
Wait a second..
Your eyes widen at the realization that hit you, before you could really stop yourself "Wait- shit were you sleeping before I got here?".
Megan's eyes darted away from yours.. and judging by how she was biting her lower lip, yeah, it didn't take a genius to realize what was happening.
"I mean.."
"Megan do not lie to me now.. I already have a killer headache, don't need a liar too.. left them in the past thank you" you cut her off, holding out a finger to point it at her, all while your brows knitted together.
Sure, that expression made your headache worse.. but it was necessary.. or at least.. you were that stubborn.. so what?
Megan looked to the side once more, before she sighed in resignation. Good.. good..
She was gonna tell the truth.. the whole truth.
"Okay.. fine.. yes I was sleeping and then next thing I knew, I felt someone beside me and of course I panicked and jumped out of bed. I am not gonna lie, I was about to strike you with a pan but then I saw that it was you so.." she tried to give you a cute smile, to save grace but your cold stare made her immediately stop.
Truth to be told.. you weren't mad.. nor were you particularly bothered. In the end.. you were the one getting spawned into her bedroom in the middle of the night. Now I am sorry but a logical person would've called the police by the second time.
Instead.. not only did Megan just forgo that.. but she also had placed you at the center of the bed, and tried waking you up gently.
Plus.. that pan laying on the drawer really was tying the whole story up so.. you didn't have any reason to scold her.
"Well.. I guess this is my fate uh? Getting basically teleported into your bedroom until my last days alive" you sighed, more so to yourself, before your back hit the matress once more.
You were never gonna tell her, but by the second time that this had happened.. you were starting to get comfortable on her bed. The mattress really was the softest cloud on earth, and you'd pay thousands just to sleep on it.
Perhaps if you asked nicely.. she would let you.. mhm.
"Hey.. I don't mind really.. it's like, having a roommate that comes once every week.. not that bad".
"Yeah, but that sneaks up to you and basically ends up invading your bed, making you jump in fear".
"It wasn't that bad.. I actually liked it.. for the 2 seconds that I didn't realize it could've been a murderer" she tried to joke, giving you a smile, topped with a wink. Though clearly, her brain was not working, because it ended up being a mess.
A cute one.. but a mess nonetheless.
"Great way to flirt Megan" you mumbled, letting out a chuckle leave your lips. If you weren't so tired, you wouldn't be so bold. But perhaps that was why the Universe (you decided it was the Universe) was doing this to you.
Maybe this all meant something.. like Megan kept bugging you about on chat.
Still.. it felt weird.
In a turn of events, as you closed your eyes, letting the darkness fill you, you felt a head lay against your shoulder. At first, you got confused, opening one eye to check on her, but then, as you saw how she took the blankets and placed them on top of you two, you understood.
She was tired.. and you were too, so the best option for the both of you was to simply.. sleep.
And really.. that was a flawless logic conclusion.. you approved wholeheartedly.
You just didn't think she was gonna be so bold as to literally lay her head on top of your shoulder like this. But I guess that a week of chatting online made her bold enough to get clingy to you.
And while there were many questions you wanted to ask.. many you needed an answer to, like.. what happened to the project? Did you manage to send it to the client, to finish it on time? What day was it, the next day?
Well, you still prefered to ignore them.. the problems.. the questions..
Because right now, it felt like you were literally in space. The room was dark, strangely, and you had to just guess that most likely Megan had bought new curtains, to eliminate the sun light from shining in so early.
You appreciate that so much. It meant more to you than she could've known.
But the other thing that made you feel like you were floating in space, was that the second your eyes would close, stars would appear on your vision. And when you'd open them.. it was as if you were laying on top of a planet, watching the Universe around you.
All while she was laying her head on your shoulder, slowly breathing in and out.. clearly asleep.
You couldn't help the way your lips slowly curled up in a smile. She was just so.. sweet like that..
Sure, she looked like a mess, but you had to admit.. it was a very pretty mess.
Gently, you placed a strand of hair behind her ear, letting your finger linger to her cheek just a few seconds too long, and when you tried to pull it back, you felt a tug..
A tug coming from her, and her hand.. basically guiding your hand back to her cheek. You understood immediately what she was trying to say.. so you let it lay there, gently, as you noticed the expression on her face softening up.
What was she dreaming about? God you actually wanted to know..
Perhaps one day the Universe was gonna just play with you and connect your dreams together..
Well.. if that were to ever happen.. let yourself be damned.. you wouldn't mind it.
---
Megan was smart. Very smart for her age. She knew how things worked, and knew just what buttons to push. At least.. that was what she really believed.
When she had found you in her room, at first, she'd admit.. she thought you were a weirdo. But then, after hearing you.. she understood that something else was going on.
Then again, it would've been far easier to call you crazy and dial for the police.. but what was the fun in that?
The next day, she had gone to her mother, telling her about what had happened. One thing that not many knew about her, was that she was very.. superstitious.
She believed in ghosts, in souls.. in all that sort of stuff as long as it really was positive. So, when this had happened.. she truly believed it was some sort of divine sign.
Her mother listened to her, nodding along to the story. Not once had she looked really surprised about what she was hearing. It was almost as if.. she had been waiting for her to tell her.
And when she had finished, her mother gave her a serious look, inviting her to join her for a talk with a 'friend'.
That was what Mama Skiendiel called her.. but well.. in reality, she was spiritual guru.. or something like that. Someone who could read into these kind of things and tell you what they meant.
And sweet Megan? Well.. she of course went there, told her everything, and listened carefully to what the guru was telling her.
She'll admit, at first, she wasn't all that convinced, but the more this guru talked, the more her mind had made up a choice. It really was fate that linked you to her.
Going back a few years.. it was no mystery that Megan loved love. She was a romantic at heart. She wanted to experience love, in all shapes and forms. Unfortunately.. love was not that friendly to her.. or at all.
Whenever she had a crush on someone, she'd get rejected. One reason would turn into 2 and then 3. And soon enough, she had somehow.. in a way.. 'given up on love'.
Not for others.. oh no.. but moreso.. for herself.
Almost like.. a broken soul.
What the guru told her, when she was explaning what your presence meant for her, and her life.. was eye opening. The guru knew everyting about her.. without her having told her anything.
It was creepy but also raw. Like.. she could just read people like that!
When she walked out of that darked room, she felt like a new person, truly.. deep inside.
She was right.. she really was right..
You were here.. you were in her life for a reason. And that reason was more appealing than what she had anticipated.. more thrilling than what she had anticipated.
You were another broken soul... like her.. and the two of you.. made a whole.
Manon misses her ex and is determined to win her back. But first, she must know how her ex is feeling. This is when she decides to hire her younger friend Megan to do some spy work and scope out if there's still a chance. What begins as harmless plan soon backfires, unravelling into uncovered emotions, shifting loyalties and new relationships.

Hi! Hows ur night? I love ur work so much, hope this finds you well!
So this girl who i guess i could say is my friend, maybe more? She has her sun, jupiter, mercury, and mars is in my first house. How do you think this will play out from these overlays alone?
Hi thank you for your kind words!
A stellium in your 1st house may make you feel really good about yourself (maybe except Saturn), boost your confidence & outlook in life, especially with Sun & Jupiter.
Sun 1st house overlay feels like you found your other twin. Someone who has the same mindset. They acknowledge you. You want to be like each other.
With Sun & Mars in your 1st house, sometimes you may feel like they compete with you (can be in a healthy way). But they value & admire your strength. You both admire & respect each other. You will be very active together. Mars 1st house overlay finds each other's appearance very sexy.
There's lots of masculine energy in your 1st house, so you will feel more masculine, energetic & upfront.
You will love to talk to each other about lots of things with Mercury 1st house overlay. It's a good placement for communication. Your communication style will be straightforward, honest & upbeat with other planets involved.
I love Jupiter 1st house overlay because they make you feel really good about yourself, appearance & personality wise. They love giving you compliments. You feel joyful with them. Jupiter doesn't tend to criticize. They want the other person to reach their potential.
With a 1st house stellium synastry, sometimes you feel like they focus a lot more on your appearance, which can be a bit shallow. We may sometimes refuse to compromise because we both want to be ourselves more with this overlay, hence the competition, but we may forgive each other easily as well. If you love that Martian confident dynamic masculine direct active energy, I think you both are a good fit for each other.
After KATSEYE drops their new EP, Beautiful Chaos, you’re alone in your home, replaying their music and haunted by memories of Daniela. Late at night, she shows up, soaked and crying, desperate for your forgiveness.
It’s late. The kind of late that makes the world quiet enough to hear yourself think — or remember everything you’ve been trying not to.
You sit in your studio, hoodie over your head, headphones pressed against your ears. The glow of your laptop is the only light. The new KATSEYE EP, Beautiful Chaos, plays on repeat.
You tell yourself it’s for “research.” You need to know what they’re doing without you.
When Mean Girls starts again, your stomach twists. You almost skip it — but then you hear that verse. Her verse. Daniela’s voice.
“God bless the hot girls, God bless the thot girls
God bless the shot girls that go get what they want girls
God bless the free girls
And, yes, God bless even the mean girls…”
Your chest tightens, like it hasn’t in months.
You close your eyes. You can see her in the booth, barefoot, hoodie draped over her shoulders, tapping the mic stand impatiently, laughing at a missed note. You can see her eyes crinkle as she mouths, “your turn, mi cielo.”
The nickname hits you harder than you expected. Your fingers curl around the arm of your chair. You hate how your breath catches.
“It’s just a song,” you mutter.
“I’m over it. I’m so over it.”
But you’re not.
You slam the space bar, stopping the track. Silence fills the room, and suddenly the empty space feels too loud.
Then — three sharp knocks at the door.
Your heart jumps. Who comes here at this hour? Nobody. Not since you left the group, not since you built this quiet, guarded little world for yourself.
Another knock. Louder.
“Y/N… please, open up.”
Her voice. Daniela’s voice.
And just like that, your heart freezes.
You get up and walk over to the door, your heart beating louder and faster with every step you take.
Your hand hovers over the doorknob. You tell yourself to breathe, but your chest is too tight.
“Y/N… please… it’s me,” she says again, voice trembling through the storm outside.
You hesitate. Nobody comes here at this hour. Nobody has a reason to. But you know that voice — every inflection, every broken syllable — and part of you wants to open the door before your brain can argue.
You do.
The rain drips down her hair, streaking her makeup into dark lines across her cheeks. Her oversized hoodie clings to her frame. She’s soaked, shivering, and somehow heartbreakingly fragile.
“You shouldn’t be here,” you say, but your voice cracks before you can stop it.
“I know,” she whispers, her teeth chattering. “I didn’t know where else to go. I… I just had to see you.”
Something inside you tightens — anger, disbelief, longing — all tangled together.
“You ‘had to see me’ at three in the morning?” you snap. “After everything? After the EP, the songs, all the… lies?”
She flinches, but doesn’t step back. “I know,” she says quietly, tears mixing with the rain. “I messed up. I hurt you. I don’t expect you to forgive me… I just couldn’t stay away.”
You fold your arms, trying to steady your voice. “You cheated on me, Dani. I don’t… I don’t even know why you think this changes anything.”
“I know,” she whispers again. “And I hate myself every single day for it. But I can’t fix the past. I just… I just needed to be here. With you.”
For a long moment, silence stretches between you, filled only by the tapping of rain against the windows and the thrum of your own pulse.
Finally, you sigh. “You’re going to catch a cold. Come in, before you ruin the floor.”
She steps inside, shivering. You close the door behind her. The house is suddenly warm, but heavy with the weight of everything unsaid.
“I don’t know if I can forgive you,” you murmur.
“I don’t expect you to,” she says. “I just… needed you to know I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.”
You lead her into the living room, dripping rainwater onto the hardwood. She shivers, and for a brief second, all you feel is the old pull — the part of you that wants to fix everything, to take her in, to forgive.
Then reality hits.
“You have no idea how much this hurts,” you say, voice sharp. “You left me. You lied. You… you didn’t just break my heart — you stomped on it, held it up to the world like it was nothing.”
Her shoulders shake. She looks down, words barely coming out.
“I know. I know I don’t deserve anything from you, ever. I hate that I did this. I… I wish I could undo it.”
You can feel the old anger, the old pain bubbling back. Your hands clench at your sides.
“Undo it? Do you know how long I’ve carried this? How long I’ve screamed into the darkness hoping you’d feel even a fraction of it?”
She lifts her gaze, eyes wet, pleading.
“I’ve felt it. Every day. You were all I could think about… and I ruined it. I ruined us.”
The room goes silent except for your ragged breathing. You want to scream, to cry, to throw something. Instead, you just stare at her. The person you loved more than yourself, the person you trusted, the person who still has the power to make your chest ache.
“I still… I still love you,” she whispers, almost too quiet to hear.
Your stomach drops. You know you shouldn’t — shouldn’t believe her, shouldn’t care, shouldn’t let her back in. But the sound of your old nickname, the desperation in her voice, pulls at something inside.
“Dani…” you breathe, shaking your head.
She steps closer, trembling, and for the first time tonight, the anger falters. You can see the rawness in her — the pain, the regret, the vulnerability.
Time slows.
Her forehead brushes yours. Your breaths mingle. Her hands reach for yours, and you don’t pull away. You don’t even think.
Then she kisses you.
And you... kiss her back.
She holds onto your shirt for support, pulling you deeper into it.
"I'm sorry..." she mumbles against your lips.
"Shut up," you mumble back as you push your tongue into her mouth, swirling it around and sliding it against hers.
You move down to her neck, finding that spot that makes her fall apart and tug at the straps of her shirt, "mi cielo..." she moans, her hands in your hair pushing you lower.
"Dani- wait- no, we... we can't," you say as you break it up and hold her.
"I'm sorry, I just... I can't. Not like this..."
She looks up at you, confused, but nods, understanding why you said that.
“I’m.. sorry. I’ll stay if you let me… I’ll stay for tonight. Can I?”
You don’t answer with words. You just nod.
She curls up beside you on the sofa. You’re both quiet, exhausted. Her fingers brush yours, and you let them stay there. Neither of you speaks, nor do you sleep easily.
Outside, the rain continues to fall. Inside, the house is warm but heavy with the weight of years of love, betrayal, and regret.
You close your eyes, letting the quiet envelop you. For the first time in months, you feel less alone.
For the first time, the house doesn’t feel empty — just unfinished.
Sunlight seeps through the curtains. You wake first, blinking against the light. She’s still there, curled against the blankets, breathing slowly. Her hair is messy, damp from the night, and your chest aches at the sight.
You get up quietly, moving to the kitchen to make coffee. She stirs but doesn’t wake fully. She murmurs something in her sleep, and you recognize it — a nickname you thought you’d never hear again.
“Amor?” she breathes, half-asleep.
You smile faintly, bitter and warm all at once. You pour the coffee, set a mug down next to her on the sofa. She opens her eyes slowly, sees it, and nods, a quiet gratitude in her gaze.
“Thank you,” she whispers.
You don’t answer with words, you just nod because words feel impossible. Instead, you sit across from her, sipping the bitter coffee, listening to the soft hum of the morning.
"Hey, Dani?" you start.
"Yeah?" she responds, now looking up at you, eyes still red from last night.
“So, about last night, I — ” You stop, searching for language that won’t slice either of you open again.
“Go ahead, amor. What is it?” she says, voice almost hopeful.
You close your eyes, inhale slow.
“I shouldn’t have kissed you,” you admit. “It wasn’t fair. I wanted to believe it meant something new, but it just… brought everything back. I’m not ready to forgive you yet. That’s why I pulled away. I’m sorry.”
Daniela’s jaw trembles; she nods once, staring at the mug in her hands.
“I understand,” she whispers. “You don’t owe me anything.”
The room fills with silence so thick it hums. You glance at the clock — 7:42 a.m.
“You’ve got rehearsal soon, right?” you ask.
She blinks, surprised. “Yeah. At eight.”
“I’ll drive you.”
“You don’t have to—”
“I know.” You grab your keys anyway.
The drive is quiet. The city is still waking up, sunlight cutting through puddles left from last night’s rain. She fidgets with the sleeves of her hoodie, while you focus on the road, knuckles white on the steering wheel.
Every few minutes she opens her mouth to speak, then shuts it again. You can feel the words clawing at her throat, but you can’t bear to hear them. Not yet.
When you pull up outside the Katseye dance studio, the group’s van is already idling by the curb. You can see the other girls through the tinted windows — Yoonchae and Sophia waving, Manon laughing at something Lara said, Megan with her headphones on.
Daniela hesitates. “Do you … want to come in? Just to say hi?”
You almost say no. But some part of you, the old part that used to belong to them, nods.
Inside, it smells like perfume, coffee, and the faint burn of curling-iron heat.
“Y/N?!” Sophia gasps, grinning. “Dude, it’s been forever!”
There are hugs, polite smiles, and an awkward joke about how wild your solo success has been. You can feel Daniela watching you from across the room, but you don’t meet her eyes.
When Grant calls everyone to warm up, you step back toward the door.
“Well,” you say, forcing a half-smile. “Good seeing you guys. Break a leg today.”
“Are you leaving already?” Lara asks.
“Yeah,” you answer. “Got studio stuff.”
Daniela takes a step forward. “Y/n—”
You shake your head. “Don’t. Not right now.”
And then you’re gone.
Outside, the air smells like wet asphalt and beginnings. You get into your car, grip the steering wheel, and let the engine hum beneath you. For a long time, you don’t move.
Your phone buzzes: mi vida💋 calling.
You turn it face-down.
You drive.
You don’t look back at the rehearsal building shrinking in the mirror.
By the time the first billboard flashes your stage name across downtown — CIELO — NEW SINGLE OUT NOW — you realize you’ve already made your choice.
You ghost her. You pour everything into the music, every ache and echo of her voice.
And somewhere between the late nights and sold-out shows, you start to believe that letting go might hurt less than holding on.
