Hi there,

On one side of the debate, you have people who argue that because Jews originated from the Middle East (and are often treated in degrading ways as a minority) that they are people of color. 

The other side of the debate argues that light-skinned Jews are white because they look white.  And they obviously hold white privilege- even if they are a minority.

I personally think this debate is rather silly and distracts us from real problems that Jews and other minorities face around the world.  Yes, identity is important.  But let’s face it, Ashkenazi Jews hold white privilege and we just need to move onto more productive dialogue.  We need to talk about the real problems of transphobia, homophobia, racism, antisemitism, and Islamophobia

The systematic racism that targets black people in the United States and in Israel literally makes me want to vomit.  The fact that no Parkland survivors of color have had a media platform makes me want to pull my hair out.  The deportation of African Asylum seekers in Israel and the ICE raids in the United States make me want to explode.  The Muslim Ban?  The Occupation of the Palestinians?  Antisemitism in leftist Israel-discourse?  Nazism on the political right?  White Nationalism seeping its way into American politics?  Circumcision and Kosher/Halal Slaughtering bans in Europe?   And then there were those BOMBS targeted at black people in Texas…  And concentration camps in Eastern Europe for gay and bisexual men?  The fact that the Trump Administration is continuing to remove eliminate transgender folks from serving their country?   I literally cannot.

These are the real problems that we should be discussing. 

Let’s work to make the world a better place for all of God’s children.

I apologize that this turned into a bit of a rant, but thee are so many things that we all need to work towards making better.  Let’s do it together.

“yo you got a girlfriend yet?”

And he was like “no”

so I was like “what about a boyfriend?” Cause yanno ya gotta ask these questions and plus I thought he’d be like Wtf and I’d get to teach him the whole Love is Love thing.

ANYWAY His response was “no I’m not into boys”

so I was like “that’s fine”

then we sat there for about a minute and I could tell he was thinking then he said “you know what I don’t understand?”

And I was thinking uh oh here it comes

but to my surprise he said

“I don’t understand why people get mad at people for being gay or lesbian. People should be able to love whoever they want and if they don’t like it then they should mind their business because gay people aren’t hurting anyone”

But that’s not the first time he said something like that to me.

Hes 11 Now and he was telling me the other day how girls can do the same things boys can do so they should let girls play football
