Absolutely Retched

Working on a bigger post about Ultra patterns but essentially I'm really just embracing how fish like I make the ultras. This is just a small Costco sample with Zero because I needed to work out how an Ultra of his coloration would look with these new pattern guidelines I'm working on.

on today's menu we have.., more Astra. Like thats a problem, I love this guy !

yeah I was just doodling and playing around with my rendering technique and shading and I ended up liking these enough to where I figured I'd share with the class.

finally figured out his facial craniofacial prosthetic and his helm situation since it took me a long time to actually wrap my head around what the hell I was even looking at and all in all I think it looks pretty alright.

Also, heads up for Astra without his facial prosthetic below in case your sensitive to facial disfigurment.

I fogot that I had tumblr so here is some fun doodles I made and ended up enjoying from the last few days, Including an idea I had for Hikari i finally drew up, Man nii-san & Seven being best friends, some doodles of Ace, Taro, and Seven oh yeah and a very lovley illustration of Astra as I try to figure out whats under the craniofacial prosthetic that I gave him.

Hikari just looks like a bat to me, it's his ears man they're so bat-like to me... he literally looks like bauhaus bro.

Good evening. Or whatever timezone you're in, I bear more fruit of my creative labor to share and it's still Ultraman flavored of course since it's all I have right now

It's just a Zoffy design I drew up once and since have drawn ever since because honestly compared to all the other ultras I have stylized, Zoffy has some of the best designs I mean just like dude, look at him.

Even since the old drafts of this look for him things like his shoulder fins, stilettos, and Shin Zōffy color pallet all remain since I liked them enough to keep them around and the more recent editions include his big fancy earrings, purple is also a color I use as an accent color for Zoffy too since purple has this mystical quality to it and it worked well with the colors I chose for him... yeah that's it those are the new editions. Well, there's also that little booboo on his face but it's no biggie, hell what's an Ultrabrother without a few scrapes ?

Also wanted to practice drawing his sluggers because I find them a bit tricky at times, so yeah I hope you enjoy !

When I think about Ultraman Zero and what it must’ve been like for him during the period where he was under the mentorship of Leo and Astra I tend to land on the idea of cultural diffusion and wonder if some of L77’s culture had rubbed off on Zero during his time under the Leo twin’s supervision

For example I gave Zero pants because I like to imagine clothing was a regular aspect of L77’s culture with Leo and Astra still engaged in this custom albeit making their own stuff (I like to think the twins made Zero these pants as a gift with aspects of both L77’s and the Land of Light’s heritage respectively, because it’s a cute idea and shows the sort of familial bond I like to think flourished between the Leo twins and Zero they practically see him as their nephew)

Other things I like to think rubbed off on Zero is the Language of L77 which yes does mean I like to think Zero is bilingual and fluent in both his native language/dialect and the language of Leo and Astra’s people since I get the feeling L77 was one home to various languages kinda similar to the Land of Light, though on the Land of Light there’s one unified language throughout the planet HOWEVER what’s interesting is the various dialects heard throughout the different regions of the planet.

Other things outside of that however since I felt like it was worth mentioning;

Yes, Zero is wearing eyeliner (certified **DIVA**) and yes those are earrings that he’s wearing because it’s fashionable and because well, you know… well, I assume you catch what I’m throwing, picking up what I’m putting down if you will, dare I say buying what I’m selling.

Also in terms of the form I did design Zero with a more heavyset frame in mind as I kinda wanted to portray him as a bit of a gymrat (for lack of a better term) but he’s not totally shredded if anything he’s got a more of strongman thing going on where he’s burly but not cut to hell and back if that makes sense, it’s also just something I like to think he inherited from his dad as I also portray Ultraseven with a similar body type it’s just something that tends to happens with red ultras they’re brolic as hell by nature and in Zero’s case those genes shine through a lot, tbh Zero just looks like dad if he slayed.

Quick heads up, there will be mentions of body horror and blood, and overall rather grim topics so do be cautious and consider if you’re up to read this or not.

It’s so scary how your old interests just come back to sneak up on you, like you’ll just be chilling and having fun with your current fixation and then all of a sudden you get hit with a crowbar to the skull by Bonnie fnaf or something.

Springtrap fanart, I drew up some art of Springtrap because his existence is an affront to mother nature spits in the eye of her law and I find that fascinating !

So up here I’ve got a few silly little doodles I made for chuckles however image #2 plays an important role in regards to my headcanon/AU thing when it comes to fnaf and how I think animatronic possession may work… yeah he sounds like a pug due to the soft tissues that accumulated within the springbonnie suit over the course of William Afton being stuck in that thing for like 30 years I think it was, yeah basically according to this AU of sorts the longer a body or soul remains possessing an animatronic the more “alive” or “organic” it becomes, this is loosely based off how in fnaf 1 there were complaints about how the animatronics stunk and also seemed to have blood and mucus seeping out from their eyes and mouths which gave me the idea for this AU, and I think Springtrap is perfect to use to demonstrate what I like to call “advanced assimilation” Afton has essentially become one with the springbonnie suit at this point

Okay, now for the more serious art, Springtrap has gums, jowls and even a masseter muscle holding his jaw together, due to a lack of lips he does slobber often and yeah he does bleed from his eye sockets, nose and gums so he’s in rough shape, I’d also like to mention that this rendition of Springtrap is nearly deaf as his hearing is incredibly muffled as well as nearly blind too as he can only really see out of his right eye and everything is very blurry and distorted so he gets around with what little he has of those senses as well as using whatever sense of touch he has left… however if we’re taking that one line of him smelling fear very seriously, this Springtrap could have a decent sense of smell still who knows !

Here be dragons. Because what if I got my Leo design and made it bot just a lion thing, but also… a dragon thing

My brain is so big.

But yeah Leo (and L77 Ultras as a whole) are one of the only warm blooded species of Ultra in my headcanon and they also use the energy the absorb and convert it into heat, they have the ability to control their body temperature to the point where, lets say Leo for example, can boil a cup of water just by holding it, he can even breathe fire too ! Thanks to a special organ within the L77 Ultra’s respiratory system. Also if you’re a fan of heraldry then there’s some Leo heraldry for you.

He’s so fun to draw I love this little creature, and he’s got a more updated look along with a new little dewlap thing on his neck, how cool !

But yeah for today’s lecture we have five drawings

First drawing is a warmup sketch of Man nii-san, or Lipiah according to my headcanon, giving us a mildly intimidating but well intentioned grimace, he can’t really help the fact he has gnarly fangs and the fact that he doesn’t really know how to smile all that well either. It’s okay though he’s doing his best and that’s all that matters, and I guess it has its charm.

Second image is of Man looking all scary and intimidating whilst tilting his head up which is something he does when he’s eyeing down his opponent as some sort of intimidation and also to see if he is capable of actually beating is opponent (which is always an indefinite yes ofc).

Man also has a habit of tilting his head to the side when he’s either curious, confused, or trying to understand something and it’s funny to see at times because it seems to be an involuntary action, he always does it, it can get eerie if he’s in a stand off with his adversary though because of his unblinking, unrelenting gaze.

Third image is of Man cradling the earth like that one image of Jesus cradling that lamb because of the various religious symbols you see throughout the Ultra series, not to mention this is just the most kind and tender light I’ve ever drawn Man nii-san in because he does genuinely love earth and all the beings that inhabit it, and was and tbh, still is fully willing to obliterate anyone who dares mess with that funny little planet because Man didn’t bust his ass off protecting it just to let it get destroyed by any scallywag with a celestial body destroying whatchamacallit having a bad day.

And finally the fifth image which is actually a redraw of an older drawing that I wanted to see how it would look with how I draw ultramen now, and also to celebrate a little as the original platform I posted it on got 100 likes and to this day I still find it crazy there are people who do find my funny little headcanons and designs to be cool a d fun, so that’s always very nice !
