3 am sentence starters
To be completely honest, Noah thought he was already asleep. However, looking down he noticed that she was completely correct. With a sigh he tossed the coffee pot into the sink and grabbed the roll of paper towels. Why he had agreed to stay up with her while she worked he didnât know, but he was wishing heâd fallen asleep about three hours ago.
âItâs three a.m.,â he yawned, sopping up the steaming liquid. âI donât even remember making the coffee, for one.â

!! @builtuponâ liked for a starter !!
âOh, no, oh no, oh no!â
Evangeline drops unceremoniously to her knees, in the middle of the sidewalk, busily snatching up fallen ribbons and tulle. A tutu here, a pair of teensy pointe shoes there, and the wind caught up a particularly pink hair ribbon before she could grab for itâ damn!Â
Without even trying to fit anything in the broken paper sack thatâd failed her, Evie tries to stumble back up to her feet, all off balance with arms tangled and desperately grasping onto the few saved items⌠naturally, that stumble would incidentally lead her to bump right into HIM, which almost causes her to drop everything all over againâ
âOh, NO! I am so sorry, I⌠the⌠I dropped themâŚâ and her bottom, pouting lip looks like sheâs about to just burst into tearsâŚ
Steady hands come out to reach for the girl, but its too late.Â
A mess of fabric and other items he werenât sure of what they were went up into the air and fell down to the ground much more elegantly than the human who was holding them had been. Still, he couldnât help but laugh a little.
Noah reaches for her and helps her to stand upright. He bends back down to pick up the remaining items that sheâd been unable to grab. âYou usually see this kind of stuff happen in the movies, but Iâll be honest. This is a first to me.â He holds up a poof of fabric, a tutu if he even knew what that was, and looked at it.Â
âUh,â he said. âHeâs your... thing. Thereâs no need to apologize.â Noah looked at her and smiled. âPlease donât cry. Itâs really not that big of a deal.â
freakfinkâ:Â
âSorry,â came the immediate response when Noah tried to explain why his cart looked like hers on a weekend bender. âI justâ Iâm not, like, really good atâ yknow, small talk,â she explained with an apologetic frown. Pushing at her hair, she gave a start when her glasses fell back down to her nose and her eyes crossed momentarily. Pulling at her glasses, she frowned deeper as the nose guards entangled in her hair and she had to reach with the other hand to get her glasses untangled from her mess of hair. âUh, sorryâ have you⌠have you tried, like, slow cookers?â The glasses came loose with a soft grunt of pain and she mumbled, âOw,â before looking back up at Noah. âSlow cookers save lives, man. Like, seriously.â
âYou just pour shit in it and leave it on slow for like eight hours then you come home andâ boom. Dinner.â Ferris looked at Noah grabbed some asparagus and squash. Turning to look in her cart she studied her ingredients then looked back at Noah, âYou heading to meat? I gotta pick up some steaks and shitâŚ. we could, yknow, maybeâ shop together? Oh like if youâre busyâ youâre probably busy, I can let you goâŚâ
Noah watched as her glasses became tangled in her hair and he couldnât help but grin. It was hard not to reach out and help her become free, but with a final tug she was able to get them out of her hair. Plus, it probably wasnât too normal for strangers to touch other strangers in places such as the grocery store. Looking away as she fixed her hair, he began pulling things out of his cart until it was nearly empty. âBelieve it or not I think I do have a slow cooker,â he said, examining the remaining items he couldnât part with. âMy mom actually gifted it to me when I started living alone. Would you guess that Iâve never actually used it?â He looks to her again finally and smiles as his hands grip the handle of the shopping cart. âMaybe itâs time I pulled it out and gave it a shot.â
Itâs a little surprising when she asks if heâd like to shop with her. He hadnât been expecting it, but still he made a show of checking his watch - even though he had no plans. âYeah, I think I could do that. I was just about to head over to the meets myself.â The smile was still on his face as he looked at her. âAfter you.â

Late Night Wanderings Sentence Starters
She wasnât wrong. The way the city seemed during the day was one thing. It was busy and full of life during the day. Bodies and vehicles littering the streets and sidewalks as people tried to get to work on time or to an appointment they might be desperately late for. At night, though, it was a whole new city. The streets and sidewalks were just as busy, but somehow the city seemed bigger. It didnât feel so crowded when the sky was full of stars to stare at and everything was lit up in neon lights.Â
And yet he wasnât looking at any of that. He was looking at her.
âYeah,â he agreed with the nod of his head. âTell me about it.â

Late Night Wanderings Sentence Starters
It was an easy thing to do. Getting lost in the dark was quite common, but usually when Noah got lost he just kept going. There was something serene in being by yourself when most of the city slept. He came across late night cafes. Bookstores that were open at all hours. Met people who were more interesting than he could ever dream to be.Â
âItâs not so bad,â he said, looking to the other. âWhen you start wandering with no destination in mind you tend to find things and places you werenât even looking for.â

âThere are over FourâŚhundred stars in our galaxy,â Viola replies, doing her best intellectual voice. âMaybe moreâ No one knows for sure.â
His brows raise and he nods from his position on the couch. âIâll one up you and remind you there are one hundred billion galaxies out there.â
freakfinkâ:
There was the softest hint of amusement in Ferrisâ honey colored eyes as the male moved his cart from her view. She dropped the bag of potatoes in her own cart and continued looking at the vegetables absently as he spoke about no one partying on a tuesday which brought a heaved sigh of relief. âItâs only Tuesday?â she asked for clarification before dropping her head back and, rather loudly, sighing, âThank God!â She smiled at the stranger, âI seriously thoughtâ thought it was Thursday for a minute and, like, thought I was going to have, like, a panic attack, man.â Ferris bit back a laugh when the man leaned against his cart only for his arm, she guessed, to slip from the handle causing him to fall a fraction lower before he caught himself and straightened to bring the cart back around. âFink,â she said before closing her eyes briefly and sniffing a bitter laugh, âUh, Fer-Ferris. Everyone justâ winds up calling meâŚFinkâŚbut my nameâs Ferris.â She looked at his hand and visibly hesitated before reaching out to shake his hand, hoping she didnât feel as cold to him as she felt to herself. âSorry um, did you need something to go withâ go with your, uh, radishes or likeâŚdo you justâ eat em like apples?â Some people did so she wouldnât have been surprised it was justâ he didnât seem to have a lot of real food in his cart. She was a connoisseur of all things junk food but she still made sure toâ attempt at having a somewhat balanced diet. NoahâŚdidnât seem to mind which made her smile. âNot to, like, judge you on your cart, dude, butâ do you not, like, eat actual food?â she snickered hoping she didnât come across as one of those health nuts she hated so much.
Noah shakes her hand and then drops it gently before looking into his cart. Okay, yeah. There was a lot of not so healthy food in there, but he did a lot of physical work. It balanced out in one way or another. He was sure of at least that considering he wasnât overweight or even near it. Though he did suppose he needed to learn to make at least some simple meals. Learning how to oven bake a chicken breast or boil a pot of pasta wouldnât mean the end of the world. âYouâre right,â he said, laughing. âIâm just... Once I get home from work all I wanna do is make something easy and then do nothing. One day Iâll probably grow up.â He finally looks to her again and shrugs his shoulders. There really was no excuse that he had. He was just tired and kinda lazy in some aspects of his life. Smiling at her, his eyes drifted over to her cart and he couldnât help but notice the differences.Â
âActually,â he said, standing up straighter. His hands reached for the bag of radishes in his cart that he had randomly thrown in and picked them up. âI didnât even know these were radishes. Or what they go on for that matter.â Noah placed the bag of veggies with the rest of them on the shelf. Instead he picked up a bag of mixed precut squash and asparagus. He placed them in his cart and then thought to himself that he should check out the meats they have.Â
streetsofsecretsâ:Â
Cassandra did not know what compelled her to punch out the name âToniâ with her thumbs. She had not referred to herself by that name since her was, at least, eighteen. âIâll have to find a babysitter by tonight. Weâll see how that works.â Sheâs curious to know how he will react hearing that word. Babysitter. If he would possibly text her saying something came up, like a broken car.
Babysitter. Kids. Toni.
He looked up from his phone and gave her a smile. Noah hadnât even considered that she might have kids. He had a niece, who he adored, but it was the only experience he had with children. The thought caused a bubble of anxiety to form in his stomach, but his mind kept going back to Toni. He wanted to know the story on that. âIf you canât,â he began. âI can always bring take out and a bottle of wine.â

streetsofsecretsâ:Â
This must be how young people date now, Cassandra thinks. Dinner was what you went on when you were interested in what someone was about, yes. But dinner dates in her mind were doubtlessly romantic and meant far more than going through a McDonalds drive-thru (which some boys are fine doing now, she hears).
Cassandra supposes that now pairs have dinner, fuck, and then go back to one of those dating apps. Tindr or Grindr (sheâs unsure which is which). But either way, this sort of causality surely worked out for men, young and old. But for women like herself? Cassandra couldnât imagine such causality.Â
âOkay, so when are we going out for dinner?â She asks, the smallest line between her eyebrows.
âTonight? Tomorrow? When? I gotta know these things.â
His face broke out into a grin and his right hand came up so he could check the time. It was still early enough in the day that they could do dinner that night. If she had no other commitments, that is. Noah looked at her again and was at a loss for words for a moment. He hadnât thought sheâd actually give him a shot.Â
âTonight,â he finally blurted out. He didnât do this often. Or hadnât done this often ever since shit hit the fan with Alice. âIf you can I mean. Whenever youâre free.â A place already came into mind where he could make reservations at any given moment. His bossâ brother owned a restaurant in the city.
âI could pick you up or we could meet,â he adds. Noah pulls his phone out of his back pocket and brings up the screen for adding a new contact.Â
âHaving some info might come in handy. Just a thought.â
