Olive ‘Melody’ Fuego-Corazón: Helluva Origins and Show-Adjacent Lore
Olive was a young girl with a passion for all things music, inspired by her mother who always played piano. Her father, a businessman with many connections, set her up to be an Idol, and discovered that groups do better than soloists.
Around 14 years old, Olive is very close with two other girls who she forms an idol trio with. Their collective training brings them closer, and over the years they rise to fame.
However, the other two in the trio know Olive is the fan favourite. She's the youngest, she's cute and sweet, and therefore a threat
The night of Olive's Sweet Sixteen Special show, a stage accident causes several lights to explode during the finale song, and Olive dies with burning hot shards of glass in her eyes.
The accident was staged by the other two in the group.
Waking up in the ring of Envy, Olive finds herself getting used to her sinner body that takes the form of an anthropomorphic bunny. She also has to learn her new powers - being able to transform into a bunny, and having eyes that glow.
Making it through rings of hell, she finds herself becoming the right hand of Mammon. She regains her stardom, and works directly with him to be perfect.
Only a few years pass as she works under him before a new Challenger arrives to be Mammon's star - Fizzarolli.
Olive loses to him, and finds comfort in her fall from stardom with Blitzo. She dates him for a while, but him leaving at suspicious times to visit Greed leads her to track him and find out he's been friends with Fizzarolli long before they were together.
They break up, and Olive goes to the one ring she hoped to avoid - Lust.
There, she actually becomes a successful owner of a new-ish club that's more based on performing for fun rather than sex-based intent, but it is a strip club.
A few months pass before Olive receives a letter delivered by the deputy manager - Every club in Lust has to be verified by Asmodeus himself. They have 24 hours before he'll show up.
Olive immediately redoes the schedule for that night, stressed like crazy.
Time passes too quickly to think, and she finds its finally time for him to show up.
As Olive is tending to the bar, she initially doesn't notice Asmodeus enter. She's too focused on the job, having lost herself in her work to prevent feeling stressed.
Eventually the scheduled performances start, and Olive retreats to backstage to help out.
One of the stage managers bets that Olive can't impress Asmodeus herself, and she JUMPS at the chance to win a bet
She changes into a neon blue bunnysuit, complete with dark blue fishnets, and white wrist cuffs with dark blue bows.
Her performance goes well, and she gets changed back into uniform and returns to the office to wait for one of her staff to bring Asmodeus to her office.
Once there, Olive is shocked to find someone else with Asmodeus.
“I hope you don't mind, but I brought my dear fizzy-frog along for the inspection-”
Olive immediately stands, fangs bared, nails digging into her desk. Fizzarolli stands before her, and it takes him a second to recognise her as Mammon's previous mascot.
“Fizzarolli, get out of my club before I tear you limb from limb with my teeth.”
Back-and-forth insults are cut short as Asmodeus pushes the two apart, trying to settle them.
Olive explains that she used to be Mammon's mascot before she got replaced and has unresolved resentment towards Fizzarolli, and hasn't been back to Greed since
Fizzarolli confirms this is true, and that he didn't want to hurt Olive, but wanted the same success she did because he saw her as an inspiration
They're on better terms after this
The club gets Asmodeus’ approval too
After some much-needed bonding, Fizzarolli suggests introducing Olive to a friend he thinks she'll like
“Fizzarolli, I mean this in the nicest way possible…why the FUCK is my ex-boyfriend here?!”
“I know that, dipshit, Why is he here?!”
“He's…the friend I wanted you to meet. I didn't realise you two were aquainted-”
“Previously acquainted. I'm not talking to that man-whore.”
“Who are you calling a whore, Melody? According to dear Fizz's texts, you work in Lust now.”
Fizzarolli has to separate the two before they kill each other
There's a lot of talking things out, and some neutral ground is established
As Blitzo and Olive become re-aquainted, eventually he introduces her to I.M.P.
She works as extra hands if they need people since she isn't performing at the club anymore
“So I'll be sending you and MnM on a mission today. Huh, Moxie Millie and Melody.”
“Actually, that's…just my stage name.”
They have a heart-to-heart and Olive tells him her real name, and he makes a joke that ‘I guess I should moan your real name if we get together sometime, if you know what I mean~”
Skip to well past the Apology Tour episode, Olive returns to Lust temporarily to check on the club
She stays with Fizzarolli and Asmodeus during this time because they're all still in touch
So Olive isn't around at IMP HQ when the trial issue occurs
Fizzarolli owns an Asmodean crystal bc why not, and loans it to Olive so she can try to stop the trial
She gets caught and almost executed first for ‘disrupting the trial’ and ‘unruly court behaviour before the Sins’
The trial proceeds as per cannon and everyone gets home safe (mostly)
Olive uses the crystal to get back to Fizzarolli, grabs her stuff and goes by the IMP HQ office to grab some food she'd made
She brings the food to Blitzo's apartment
She has nurse training so she's able to make Stolas eat some food after a bath
She then transforms into her bunny form and is able to sleep on a pillow with a small blanket to take up less space
(She feels out of place in the apartment because she's not dating Blitzo, has no connection to Stolas, and isn't close with Loona)
Eventually that displacement feeling becomes too much and she leaves, putting a note on the fridge about reheating the food she'd made before eating it
She doesn't want to go back to Asmo and Fizz because they're reconnecting post-trial, same with Moxie and Millie
About a week passes and nobody has heard from her
Blitzo decides to send Moxie and Millie to track her down, because he needs to stay and take care of Stolas and Loona
Eventually they find her in a run-down apartment in Envy, from when she first ended up in hell
“Melody, darl, are you here-”
“Don't call me that, Millie.”
The three of them talk. For a long time.
Olive tells them about how she feels useless to everyone, despite taking care of others and ignoring her own needs to the point that her fur is matted and she's losing sleep
She tells them that she's used to being lonely, but hates the idea of being alone. She's jealous of Blitzo and Stolas, of Moxie and Millie, of Fizzarolli and Asmodeus. She doesn't see herself ever being loved like that.
“I was always good at performing. I could do anything if I was on a stage. The one thing I can't do is be loved.”
Moxie and Millie realise they've also fallen trap to Olive pretending to be fine, treating everything like a show and masking
They regather with Blitzo, Stolas and Loona at their place
“We now have two depressed animal demons.”
“I'm not depressed, Moxie, I just don't want to smile. Don't have much to smile about anymore.”
