I am trying to re-frame my thinking about social media and posting art. I'd rather use social media to hold myself accountable to my art and to make art that is personally rewarding rather than trying to be quick about putting out a lot of work to stay relevant. Relevancy is not as big of an issue on tumblr since there isn't really an algorithm here and people find my work in their own time, but definitely on other platforms I get little interaction.

This lack of interaction is largely due to the few amount of posts I have coupled with my slow production of more. And more (and more and more) is needed for visibility, but I have to constantly remind myself that this is not my job and I don't need to churn things out if I don't want to (and I really don't want to).

Interaction is not the point of socials for me anymore--certainly not on algorithmic platforms, anyway. For the moment I'm trying to make the primary point of my socials to catalog my work and present it in a way that is honest to the process and myself.

WIP || working on yet another new approach to my painting process, as the current one I have results in a lack of clarity in the final pieces. I think it's a foundational issue that results in a mess far later into the piece, and I'm working to build a stronger working foundation at the start of a piece so I don't have an insurmountable issue later.
