the trailer: we see the 118 peeling out of the station, pulling up to the fire with looks of amazement and horror. it’s an all hands on deck blaze so cap sends everyone inside, pairing eddie and buck together for the first time since eddie transitioned to paramedicine full time. there’s nerves and tension in the air while some sort of “still got my back?” quip is exchanged and words of affirmation are shared over a wink and a fist bump and then they’re in. we see each 118 member (hen, ravi/harry, buck/eddie) inside working, then athena pulls up in her detective outfit dramatically shouting “you’ve got to get everyone out, evacuate that building right now” (for some strange and unexpected reason we will learn about later) and as chim makes the evacuation call over the radio, we see the 118 again inside the building all unable to evacuate for various reasons (hen is trying to drag a patient out, ravi/harry are standing at the edge of a gaping, flaming hole blocking their route to the stairs, and buck&eddie are trying to lift a beam off a trapped victim). they all give the camera/each other a distressed/determined look, and that’s when the building explodes or collapses or something. cut to black, then chimney’s voice comes over the radio, thick with static and panic as he calls for the 118 to respond. we hear nothing, and instead see flashes of each character unconscious/trapped/etc as a heart rate monitor sound builds in the background. as chimney calls again for his team to respond, name by name we see them all once more before the heart monitor sound flatlines, signaling that at least on one, if not all of them are in dire straights. then there’s usual trailer stuff, cut scenes of before/during/after the fire, crazy post-explosion stuff like an injured and crazy-eyed eddie straining to pull pieces of the building off buck, ravi’s unconscious body sliding towards the hole in the floor while harry scrambles after him, hen bleeding and trapped taking off her mask to give to the young victim she was trying to help, chim and athena trying to plan a rescue from outside, maddie and josh taking calls and watching it all unfold from inside dispatch, a dramatic voice over about what transpired, asking the audience ‘who is going to make it out alive?’ (it looks really bad for everyone but they all survive duh)
