I would like to spread my personal headcanon related to purring in omegaverse, which is that it’s something every designation can do and does do.

There are different types of purring and they each have a different purpose and meaning.

Purring is a great way for one to self-soothe when stressed, distressed, sad, or just in need of comfort. These sorts of purrs might sound a little broken and sad in the beginning, but eventually ebb into something that sounds more soothing.

Speaking of soothing, purring is also a great way to comfort those around you and has been scientifically proven to be beneficial to improving one’s mood and mental health.

Parents/guardians will purr while cuddling their pups or the pups in their care. They also purr as a way to help pups calm down when their emotions are high (ex. sad or upset). This sort of purring is steady and rhythmic in quality, the volume of these types of purrs are actually not loud in order to overpower the other sounds in the vicinity, but are instead just the right volume and frequency for the pups to focus in on.

Pack Purrs are a sort of informal therapy session, often set up to soothe families or individuals who have experienced a loss, extremely stressful situation, etc. These sessions often involve group hugs/cuddles where everyone purrs. The purring in these Pack Purr sessions are not unlike the way parents/guardians will purr to calm down upset or distressed pups.

I've noticed both an increase in the same four scents being used in stories and an increase in people complaining about the same scents being used, so here are some alternatives:

Like secondary-gender education. Does it happen? How? When? Is there a religious text that isn't really clear on what to do during heats and ruts, but people twist it to just tell people to ignore itttt?

Are secondary genders a taboo subject around kids? Are heat suppressants as expensive as period products or contraception?

Are alpha/omega couples seen as only the sex they have, similarly to how queer people often are?

Maybe the a/b/o society is more sex positive because of the heightened biological need for sex for alphas and omegas? If this sex positivity only applies to them, what about betas? Are they expected to ignore itttt?

Also, love what you all are doing with alpha/alpha and omega/omega couples and the societal stigma around them, but most that I've seen are the same primary gender. How does that interact with hetero a/a or o/o pairings?

The more primal/instinctual side of the secondary sex are more akin to impulsive/intrusive thoughts (depending on the situation) not a seperate entity, simply a different facet of the person

Symbolically/metaphorically there is a wolf in people's heads. Displays wolf-like behavior (wagging tail, flopping over) but all in the person's head. Represents primal/instinctual thought without any words shared with the person.

• Logic/Instinct are roomates and they're both in your head:

The "instinctual" entity can take over (drops/dropping) capable of limited speech, may hold differing opinions from the person they inhabit. May have different memories/experiences if one state is dormant while the other is active. Oftentimes when taking over the "instinctual" side has an inability to do normal human things (speak eloquently, use devices)
