Merry Christmas @haruka-song-when !!! I hope you have an amazing day today!💙☃️

Warm sunlight shined through the partially open soft white curtains covering the windows, to warm Atsushi’s dreamily awakening face.
He turned softly while giving his legs and toes a languid stretch, hearing the clean sheets crackle in protest. As if they were happily dreaming too and were annoyed to have their cozy sunlit frolics disturbed by his rousing. He groggily opened his eyes, only for them to land on the beautiful sight before him. Tips of brown hair set ablaze by the morning light, soft and supple skin glowing, a soft smile poised beneath a pair of once brown eyes now turned swirling molten gold in the glow of this perfect morning. A light blush dusted the heights of his cheeks as he realizes Dazai had been watching him.
His eyes flickered away from Dazai’s gaze with embarrassment as he softly asked “What are you doing?” His question went unanswered as Dazai’s arm snaked around his waist and pulled him snug and face to face with his partner. A low hum of contentment rumbled from the back of Dazai’s throat, and Atsushi knew his lover enjoyed the sight of him so flustered. His voice warm with his obvious approval of the situation as he answered.
“Enjoying the view, kitten. And waiting for you to awake.”
Atsushi didn’t reply, he did not trust his voice to remain true, he had never felt so safe and content with someone before. So he simply dipped his head under Dazai’s chin and buried his blushing face into his neck, leaving a couple soft pecks in his wake.
They were slow to rise from their soft bed; it did not seem like the type of morning that should be rushed. It was a morning where few words were said between them, everything they had to say was conveyed through a single meeting of the eyes from across the room. Or the lightest touch of the fingertips as one passed by the other. No, it was not a morning for words, but for simple and complete love shared between them.
They gazed at one another over the brims of their now half full coffee mugs, when an abrupt and sharp Ring Ring broke the spell of the morning. The outside world breached their haven as Dazai answered the phone. Atsushi’s hope of it simply being Kunikida, calling to chastise them for being so late were ruined by the serious and concerned look on Dazai’s face. Dazai hung up the phone, looking crestfallen as he softly placed it back into his pocket and he told Atsushi of the mass gifted attack downtown. So they ran, and separated at the door, Dazai heading to agency to strategize with Ranpo and Atsushi to the site of the attack. It was time protect Yokohama, as they always have.
It is such a simple wish. The wish that every morning could be as wonderful as this one. The hope that the magic of a simple cup of coffee shared with love could maybe be a barrier against all the pain of the world on the other side of the door. But as every person who has experienced such a blissful start of their day could tell you…that is never the case. For what then, would make such a morning so rare and special that it must always be cherished?

I hope it was sweet yet suspenseful, but I hope your Christmas is only sweet and wonderful!
