Okay, so if you’ve been keeping up, you know that I’m working on expanding Wane Enterprises. I’ve also been thinking about expanding my reach as Batman. When I was out and about, someone actually tried to attack me! Can you believe it? Haha. Anyway, it reminded me of that hotline that Alfred put up a while ago to deal with calls like that. Trying to be modernized and all that. Well, someone needs to answer the calls. I’m too busy, and after all, a good leader knows to delegate tasks. Alfred says the same thing, of course.
Well, I just set up a few new offices for the official Wane Tower. That’s when a great idea struck me. Why not set up a call center to take the calls from people that need help? So, I contacted the guys over at Creative Office Design to see what else they had for sale. I went brand new for Wane Enterprises, but since the Batman Biz is going to stay off the books, I wanted the more economical option. Don’t want any red flags raised.
To my surprise, they had a ton of quality used cubicles for sale and every other piece of office equipment you would need. I decided to go with (can you guess?) black, wooden cubicles. I set up a whole wing in the manor and got several people in to take the calls. I’m not sure what Alfred told them. Obviously, they don’t think that they’re working for the real Batman. Maybe a themed 911 call center? How would that make sense? [Note: Ask Alfred what he told these people.]
Anyway, I took a quick tour of our new call center last week. I have to say, I’m impressed. Despite honoring our need for privacy and not asking any questions, Creative Office Designs really chose the perfect setup for the space. The open floor plan still had partitions to give natural boundaries, and they were sound proof enough so that the person on the phone could not be heard clearly by anyone else around.
What’s funny though, is that Alfred seemed to order an extra used desk just meant for the purposes of calling my cell phone directly. He put it in the front of the room, with a bright red phone covered in a classy glass case. It looks like it came out of that classic TV show from the sixties. Alfred always had a sense of humor like that. The movies really don’t do him justice.
Even though I didn’t handle all of the details, I really thought finding high quality used cubicles for sale was going to be a challenge. Especially black, wooden ones that would fit my aesthetic. Creative Office Designs made it so simple for us. All they really needed were pictures of the space, and with a little virtual planning, they had something picked out and ready to ship to the towers.
I kind of wish I hadn’t put the call center in the actual tower, now. I saved so much money, I could have set up another building. Maybe that’s something I’ll have to reconsider in the future. If I do redo this, I’ll definitely work with them again! Or rather, me and Alfred will.
