Am I allowed to use “aroace” as an umbrella term while being angled aroace in that I feel both sexual and romantic attraction but lesser in both frequency and intensity than allos or should I just use microlabels and/or angled aroace
I always tell people I’m aroace because I don’t feel like explaining that I’m mainly greyromantic (I say “mainly” bc I’m aroflux) and both aegosexual and greysexual when describing my sexual and romantic orientation. I know many people already use aroace as an umbrella term but I’ve also seen people get mad at others for doing so when they aren’t fully aro and/or fully ace… so I don’t know if I should. I only ever feel the need to painfully explain my full aroace identity whenever I like someone (which is once per sometimes and most of the time I don’t even like them and Im just confused) so I’ve just tried to get used to using aroace as an umbrella term (I’ve only just figured out I’m on the spectrums recently).
What I’m saying is, I’m finally comfortable with accepting that I’m on the aroace spec, but there’s this small uncomfortable part of me that makes me feel like I’m lying when I tell people I’m aromantic or asexual. I just don’t know if I’m “allowed” to use those labels.
