What do you think of Perpetua, a yandere obsessed with his twin?
Hi! Two things. First: sorry for making you wait so long. Second: my dumbass didn't know what a yandere was, so I had to do some research. Not sure if this will be any good, but I tried my best.
And honestly? This is such a good idea.
Let's take a version where Copia and Perpetua were separated as children.
Perpetua had always felt lonely. Like there was something missing from his life, something he couldn't quite put into words. So when he found out he had a twin brother, he was convinced that Copia was the missing piece. Finally, everything would make sense.
When they first met, Copia tried to stay neutral. (He was still a little annoyed that fucking V had stolen his role☹️)
Perpetua, on the other hand, was overjoyed. After all those years, he had finally found his twin.
After their first conversation, Copia decided that Perpetua wasn't so bad. And for the first time in his life, someone seemed genuinely happy to see him. Not Frater Imperator. Not Papa Emeritus IV. Not even Cardinal Copia.
Perpetua, meanwhile, was fascinated by his twin. Everything about him seemed interesting. The way he spoke. The way he smiled. The little habits he didn't even seem aware of.
Perpetua wanted to know more.
So after spending time with Copia, he started asking other people about him. The Siblings of Sin, ghouls, anyone who might know something.
He wanted to know everything.
What Copia liked, what he disliked, who he spent time with, who he trusted, who he loved.
Especially that last one.
Perpetua found himself hoping that Copia didn't have a partner. He wasn't entirely sure why. Only that the thought of someone else being more important than him left a bitter feeling in his heart.
When Perpetua started asking the Siblings of Sin and the ghouls about Copia, nobody thought much of it. After all, they had only recently found each other, of course Perpetua wanted to learn more about his twin.
And since Copia had spent most of his life surrounded by the Siblings and the ghouls, it was only natural that they knew things about him.
At first, nobody found it strange. Including Copia. Well... mostly.
It didn't take long for him to find out that Perpetua had been asking questions about him.
A part of him thought it was a little weird.
They talked every day. And Copia had never lied to him. So why not just ask him directly?
But another part of him... another part liked it. Someone was actually interested in him.
Not because of his title, not because of his position, not because they wanted something from him.
They were interested in him.
The thought made warmth spread through his chest.
For the first time in his life, someone wanted to know everything about him. And it wasn't like Perpetua meant any harm.
Perpetua would never hurt him.
Perpetua continued learning more and more about Copia.
Thanks to that, he always seemed to know exactly what to bring him. His favorite juice, his favorite snacks. Little things that made Copia smile.
And Perpetua loved seeing that smile.
He was even happier when he learned that Copia didn't have a partner. That meant they could spend even more time together. Copia didn't mind.
Perpetua was kind to him. Attentive. For once, someone seemed genuinely interested in his life.
Copia was sitting with a few ghouls, laughing at something one of them had said. Without thinking, he reached out to ruffle a ghoul's hair.
Then he noticed Perpetua watching. His hand froze.
There was something in Perpetua's expression.
Something that hadn't been there before.
For a brief moment, Copia wondered if his twin was... jealous. The thought felt ridiculous.
Slowly, he lowered his hand.
Perpetua's expression softened almost immediately.
That evening, Copia decided to ask him about it.
At first, Perpetua looked away. Then he quietly admitted,
"I'm sorry if I scared you. I was just sad."
"You never touch me like that."
The answer made Copia's chest tighten. Suddenly, he felt guilty.
So he wrapped his arms around Perpetua and pulled him into a hug.
"Then you should've just said so."
Perpetua immediately relaxed. His arms wrapped around Copia in return. And just like that, the strange look was gone.
His brother was holding him. That was all that mattered.
Their relationship escalated quickly.
Perpetua was always looking after Copia. He remembered the little things, helped him with work whenever he could, and always seemed to know exactly what Copia needed before he even asked.
Then came the first incident.
One day, Copia was chatting with a Sister of Sin. She laughed at something he said and briefly rested a hand on his arm.
Perpetua was there immediately.
His voice was calm, too calm.
The Sister quickly apologized and stepped away.
After that, similar moments started happening more often. Whenever someone stood too close, whenever someone touched Copia, whenever someone seemed a little too interested in him.
Perpetua was always there.
Always watching, always intervening.
Eventually, people stopped trying.
And somehow, nobody except Perpetua seemed to touch Copia anymore.
At first, Copia felt uncomfortable about it, a little angry, even. But there was another feeling too. A smaller and quieter one. One he didn't really want to acknowledge.
He liked having Perpetua nearby. He liked knowing someone was always paying attention to him. He liked being protected.
Maybe the distance from everyone else was just another way of protecting him.
The thought lingered. It shouldn't have comforted him.
And that scared him more than anything.
Weeks passed. Then months.
Slowly, Copia began noticing something strange.
People stopped approaching him. The Sisters of Sin no longer invited him for tea, the ghouls stopped asking him to join them. At first, he thought he was imagining it.
Then one evening, he overheard two Sisters talking.
"...don't. Perpetua won't like it."
The words sent a chill down his spine.
For the first time, Copia wondered how many people had stepped away on their own. And how many had been convinced to.
That night, Perpetua found him sitting alone.
"Have you been telling people to stay away from me?"
Perpetua blinked. Then smiled. A soft, affectionate smile.
"I'm just protecting you."
Something cold settled in Copia's stomach.
Because Perpetua genuinely believed that.
