pls just imagine sadie hiding behind lockers and ducking into classroom doorways/stalls whenever lacy happens by in school 

because lacy makes sadie’s heart do triple toes in her chest and sadie Does Not like feeling so out of control, like. remember how tongue-tied sadie got around anubis

this is a thousand times worse

carter thinks it’s both cute and supremely entertaining. sadie tries really hard to keep it from him and she manages for like a few weeks, but

carter comes to pick her up from school at some point and laCY WALKS BY and sadie makes the Mosttm Undignified noise and probably forcefully shoves carter into some bushes in a move of pure, primal instinct that carter will Never let her live down, ever

sadie primping her hair in the bathroom mirror before a class she knows lacy is in before she realizes what she’s doing and uses that frustration to fuel her through that class 

sadie paying attention to who’s around lacy the most, where she sits at lunch, who she sits with, how cute her nose is, how her eyes really crinkle up when she laughs, 

part of the reason why sadie seriously hates drew tanaka is because drew’s the only person lacy seems to visibly wilt around, and she always seems to be the only one to make lacy frown and tell her what to do and grab her arm and push her around and sadie Hates it

like drew was never outright or blatantly mean to sadie but you can sure bet drew wasn’t her biggest fan after sadie discreetly magicked her locker full of dung beetles and did nothing to hide her glee at the public devastation it caused

but it’s cute because sadie’s such a punk but she’s so protective of lacy like she’ll go on little rants about how she deserves so much better and carter keeps trying to passively urge sadie to just taLK TO HER

sadie overhears that lacy’s favorite color is pink so she dies her hair pink and then lacy actually comes up to her and compliments her hair and sadie gets MAD later at how deeply she blushed

can you imagine sadie being assigned to lacy as a lab partner or something

sadie going over lacy’s dad’s to work on homework together in lacy’s room

imagine sadie falling asleep on lacy’s bed during a long study session and it’s so Good because all of lacy’s things smell like her and 

lacy is quite sincerely taken aback by how adorable sadie is

lacy asking for sadie’s help doing her hair n sadie gets to run her fingers through it and sit right behind her and just talk about things. lacy is a surprisingly passionate girl and it suits their relationship rlly rlly well

like sadie and lacy will be That Couple (Before They’re Even A Couple) who’ll say something and their s/o immediately reacts with feeling like “i know right!! i feel the same!? wow!”

lacy askin sadie to do her makeup even though sadie’s not like super adept in that area. “it’s alright, i’ll guide you”

can you just. for one second imagine sadie taking lacy’s lipgloss in her fingers and cupping lacy’s jaw so she can carefully apply it lacy’s lips

and the atmosphere gets really thick because sadie is still holding lacy’s face and she’s still looking at lacy’s lips to the point where she’s just staring at them until lacy carefully leans into sadie’s palm and sadie leans in because, holy shit,

so that’s their first kiss and you can bet your damn life they are the most giddy, unironically sappy couple like, 

they’re the type to start giggling during a classic date out to dinner or at the movies just because they’re, like, on a date and they’re happy about it

Ma’at represents both the Egyptian concepts of and personification of truth, order, balance, justice and harmony. Isfet is her ideological counterpart, representing lies, chaos, violence, injustice and disharmony.

The sun-god Ra came from the primaeval mound of creation only after he set his daughter Maat in place of Isfet. If Isfet were to rise, humanity would decay and return to a primordial state.

something felt wrong and then i realized i haven’t drawn him in a week, so i doodled this

like he’s written as a minor antagonist, but his scene isn’t an epic battle, a fight, or even an argument.  it’s a board game.  the fact that the tension comes through so well in a board game scene is remarkable.  not only that, but he is brought in specifically to help the protagonists.  the kanes have no choice but to play by his rules.

and then there’s khonsu’s character.  first off, best aesthetic.  he’s so fancy, i love him.  then his powers are just incredible.  yeah moon magic is awesome, but this dude can also manipulate time?  fuckin awesome.  he’s clearly the most powerful person in the room, but the scene also balances his intimidating presence with giving him a sense of humor, all without breaking the tone.

Khonsu laughed at his own joke. He didn’t seem bothered that no one joined him.

also he just fuckin eats one of the major characters.  eats him.  okay, he doesn’t like physically eat him, but he eats his very existence.

so towards the end of book 2, right before the final confrontation, the story pauses to have a tense board game scene with a comedic-yet-menacing antagonist, and then he just devours the soul of one of the major protagonists.  and then he just disappears.

walt “oh my god it’s not a match” “sadie i’m sure he hasn’t seen you yet” stone on sadie’s tinder

these are really sloppy, but i had an idea for a rewrite of the kane chronicles version of anubis, and i needed to crank these out

like in the books, when carter and sadie first have to venture into the underworld, some of the gods (bast and thoth namely) warn them about anubis and so he’s built up as being this intimidating figure.  however when the kanes finally meet him, they learn that they weren’t warned about him because he’s scary - but because he’s weird.  he’s still nice, but he comes off as kind of awkward in social situations that don’t involve death or comforting the grieving.

as far as age goes, he’s closer to bast or khonsu when it comes to his appearance.  however, he’s very old fashioned.  his exposure to modern mortal culture largely comes from the souls that pass through his domain - so mostly the elderly.  also time still works differently for him.

sadie calls him old fashioned and he’s like “i beg your pardon, i have a gramophone.  i am up to date.”

speaking of sadie, there is no romance subplot.  she still sasses him and he’ll occasionally sass back when he learns how to, but their relationship slowly turns into one of mutual respect.

sadie also helps him navigate his relationship with set  when he expresses feeling like he doesn’t have anything in common with his father (like rick, that’s the version of the myth i’m going with), sadie is able to relate to him on that level and offers him some advice and insight.  at first he’s confused on why he’s taking advice from a preteen, but that moment leads him to appreciate her more.

he takes on more of a older brother/mentor figure with walt and he keeps looking for excuses to hang out with him.  he doesn’t merge beings with him, but in order to save his life walt does end up hosting him (in the same way carter did with horus).

he keeps scrapbooks where he plans funerals for everyone he meets.  if he knew about pinterest, he’d use that too.  he also thinks it’s nice to share his funeral plans with people.
