my headcannons for the riordanverse characters' handwritings:
part 2 <3
this has been in my drafts for more than a year, i think i posted the last one in december 2024 which was a long time ago and i promised multiple parts but i lwk forgot about my tumblr for a while LOL SORRY anyway, here's part 2, do not expect parts 3 and 4 because i probably will disappear again and resurface later idk maybe i might re-enter my tumblr era but i may need a whole account CHANGE lol (i'm making a longer post about this hold on) anyway i've yapped tm okay so here's the actual post:
8) hazel
- pretty neat
- she doesn't really have a fixed handwriting because it changes with her mood
- it's mostly cursive
- she isn't used to using regular pens
- she prefers fountain pens
- simple handwriting
- dots her 'i's with stars
- crosses her 7s and Zs
- overall 9/10
9) nico
- it's definitely very beautiful handwriting
- although his spelling is really bad and he makes many cancelations
- even he prefers to use fountain pens even though he's been living in the modern world for a while
- crosses both his Zs and his 7s
- his handwriting is very similar to hazel's except hazel's is more confident (idk if that makes sense) whereas he has many cuts and scribbles
- he has a habit of making his words hyphenated when they don't fit on a line like th- is
- overall 8/10
10) reyna
- the kind of writing you'd find on a mysterious note in a murder mystery
- trailing letters
- also kind of like what a typical doctor's handwriting looks like
- great spelling (if you can even make out the letters)
- presentation is...questionable
- while jason likes to write in points she mushes everything together in one paragraph all the time
- likes to make side notes
- lots of arrows pointing here and there, connecting points
- stars (these kind- *) and question marks all over her notes
- nobody can make any sense of it but her
- overall 3/10
11) lavinia (why do people always forget about her??)
- very similar to reyna's handwriting
- also makes a lot of side notes
- there's something unique about her handwriting so that everyone can go, "oh yeah that's lavinia's" and she can't help it: squiggly underlining EVERYTHING
- she has a habit of pretending that words are like fonts so she literally writes slanted to get italics and makes her letters thicker to achieve the bold effect
- mostly legible but it's the kind of handwriting that takes a while to comprehend
- puts a line through everything she can (Zs, 7s etc.)
- overall 7/10
12) magnus
- if pain was embodied as a handwriting
- he hates writing so much
- since norse demigods can have cell phones he just prefers texting
- since he was on the streets for so long his writing style is like spoken words rather than actual lines
- overall 2/10
