Laura didn’t want her sister to let the bag fall, and quickly rush over to her sister and picked them up before things rolls too far away from the girls. “Hi Cora.” She said softly with a smile on her face. “I’m guess Derek didn’t have a chance to tell you that I was some how back.” 

She swallowed hard. “You look wonderful, Cora. you look like mom did at your age.” Laura, if she could have, would have saved any and all pictures, but she had one picture of their mother in the back of her mind and Cora looked just like her. “I’m sorry for catching you like this..”

Cora just stood there, not believing what she was saying. Maybe the cheese cube she picked up from one of those testers at the grocery store was laced with some poison that made her hallucinate. Because there was no way her sister could be standing there. While she hadn’t seen Laura actually die, she had heard about what her uncle had did. And even though she didn’t think Nora would come back and she did, there was no way Laura could have physically survived. But there she was, standing there as if nothing had happened. 

Laura had only been back a few days, but Derek had kicked almost the whole pack out of the house for a few days just so she could calm the hale hell down and get used to every ones scents. The familiarity of her family’s scents came right back though after just being in Derek’s loft for a few hours.

It had been a few weeks since being alive and Laura had been really mostly keeping to herself. Trying to catch up on the last six years just spent on Derek’s computer trying to piece things back together. Sitting by the window as she did she saw her sister’s car pull in. It seemed, at least to Laura, that her little sister had been busy and Laura didn’t have a chance to actually see her.

Grabbing her boots, she walked over to the loft door and headed down, hopefully before Cora was heading back up. Getting to the front door of the building she walked out, seeing her sister with a few bags of food. “Need help?” Laura said simply not wanting to shock her sister or anything.

Cora was, for the first time in what felt like her life, content with how her life was going. Sure she still wanted to kill everyone she came by who pissed her off, but she was enjoying her life. Enjoying actually going to classes, enjoying being an adult with a boyfriend and a place of her own to live. After so long of hating the world and everything that inhabited it, her world was starting to calm down. She had her family, at least most of it, back with her. Her uncle was less murderous than before, her brother lived above her, her younger sister lived with her in the loft their brother owned.

Every day, she missed her older sister. When Nora came back, part of her desperately wished Laura would be right behind her. She always regretted not being able to say goodbye to her, always thinking that if she had made herself known, told them she survived the fire, Laura would still be alive. Peter might not have gone insane, her family would still be whole.
