Professor, have I ever thanked you for indulging me and listening to the things that I wanna say when I know you have better things to do with your time? Thank you and now hear me out: do you believe each of us has a story to live That we all have a destiny to fulfill?
Why is that some people live so much longer than others? Maybe they haven’t completed their assignment? Is that why ghosts remain here and relive their past so often? Because they made an unrepairable mistake somewhere and now they’re stuck constantly having to relive them?
You have not, but you are most welcome, my dear. I haven’t been your professor in some time though, so feel free to call me Christian. Or Chris. Or hey, continue calling me professor, whatever flies your hippogriff.
As for your question, I believe strongly in destiny but that it is very different from what we call fate. I believe we have a strong sway on our fate and can sculpt our own destiny and this is why when fate takes life away from a person too soon, they return as a ghost or a spirit to create and fulfill their own destiny and finish the work they weren’t allowed to at the hands of cruel, cruel, lady fate.
What are your thoughts on the matter?

If our life expectancy is over 130 years then why is 17 – a number so small compared to 130 – the amount of years we have to live to be considered legal adults and responsible for our actions? Not to mention the wizards that live way beyond that, do you think they use their pensieves and watch their 18 baby self acting like they own the world? How embarrassing, I can’t wait to live that.

They're in an underground train station just past a sign that reads "Uptown." There was a sign across the street that said "Downtown" and Blaze isn't entirely sure which one of the two sides they're supposed to be on, but there's no way he's telling that to Chris. He's under enough stress trying to operate the damn metro card machine that he keeps tapping in all the wrong places, either accidentally charging himself 100 extra dollars or changing the language to Chinese. Not to mention the hulking 200 pound idiot complaining over his shoulder.
"Aren't you a muggleborn?" Chris asks impatiently, watching Blaze struggle but making no effort to assist.
"I wasn't raised in a big city like this so I don't know how these things work," Blaze replies as calmly as he can under the circumstance.
It silences Chris for about a half a second before Blaze accidentally exits out of the entire menu just as he was asked to confirm his purchase. At the point the DADA professor rolls his eyes and mutters, "Some Ravenclaw you are." It's under his breath but it's enough to make Blaze wordlessly turn away from the machine, walk over to the nearest turnstile and simply step over the bar onto the train platform, not even looking back to see if his overgrown child of a companion was following.
